I feel like I grudgingly read Emily Henry books. Pretty much every other one I read I love and then the next one I hate. I’m not sure I’m going to give this one a try because I really enjoy where the relationship build up is genuine, and emotional between those two specific characters.

I will say, I do think the emotional connection is genuine, but I wish the physical stuff just took a little longer to get there. Did you enjoy Happy Place?

@@bookloverlauraHappy Place was a 4-star for me. I don't love the dual timeline where you're building up in the past timeline to why they broke up in the first place because it's hard to enjoy seeing them reconnect because there's this impending dread in learning why they broke up. That's the same reason I didn't love People We Meet on Vacation. But I loved Book Lovers!

Thanks for the review. I hadn't planned to read this as I've decided that Emily Henry is not for me. I still don't think I'll read it, but I appreciate your thoughts and how they helped me make a decision based on something more than just saying an author isn't working for me. I can see how people would like this, it just doesn't seem like there is much in this one for me.

Can definitely see that. Her books are just so hit or miss for me. Thanks for watching!

I'm not a big Emily Henry fan. I'll probably give Funny Story a try.
