I have a friend who loves to read (even owned a bookstore), and often is entertained by how I can get distracted and excited mid-sentence by something completely off-topic, laughing and exclaiming “Squirrel!!” 😂 Those are good memories! I don’t know why we sometimes repeatedly hear something different than what is being said, but it’s like our brain gets stuck on it the first time and won’t let go! 😅 I usually miss a segment of the speaker’s message immediately after that, being stuck there, surprised and bewildered-kind of like a scratched record! (My ADHD medication isn’t always sufficient for my need!! Lol😂
