I have my dad to thank for getting me into jazz. I’m 54 and he was 87 on Monday. Went to see him on his birthday and played him this mix. He has onset dementia and is forgetful but Tuesday afternoon he called me and asked if that jazz I played was on a record and if he could buy it. I said I’ll try and find it knowing I’d have to say I couldn’t find it. Saw him again today and played him this mix again. 87 and he loves it 😃. Great to share this with the man that introduced me as a kid to great music.

Tinzo's definitely a favorite of mine and I have listened to every one of Book Club Radio's videos and loved every one of them (Except the pride video, that one I skipped over because it wasn't interesting. Even the one at the rooftop I couldn't listen to that person's mixes, too slow and boring if you ask me.) But everything else, lovely and done very well that I wish more Ultra Music Festival DJs would start doing.

Shibuya-Kei genre was cool back in the day and mixed jazzy vibes with dance music. UK is sadly behind… Ronnie Scott’s in ever so expensive London has some DJ nights with Jazz - for when you win the lottery…

Yeah knocking on 50’s door, grew up on all music, but jazz has always had a special place. EDM , back when it was just “techno” for all of it and then “trance” and “house” made their split and people started playing around with mixing in old jazz and music from the 40’s -70’s and I was in high heaven. I absolutely love this and love to see how dj’s interpretations turn out. (6 good friends are dj’s and it’s always fun to see them experimenting)

I've seen far greater mistakes from bigger DJs. Up to spinning vinyl and then getting stuck in the mix, resulting in SILENCE (inset crickets here). 6000 attending stopt in their tracks as the DJ blacked out completely. Looked at her straight in her blue eyes. Made a spinning movement with my finger in the air, and she snapped out of it. No one of the 6000 minded at all. She played for 1.5 hours flawlessly, and after the set, she thanked me with a kiss. The problem was that a record didn't make it to the venue. And indeed, after DeadMaus's confession, you being really out there all the way is a needed fresh breath of air. And since you beatmix (no Google, not Beatrix) instead of syncing, you could also spin the wheels of steel DVS or straight. Would be cooler than frozen whisky.
