OMG I freaking ADORED this show & LORD HAVE MERCY RICHARD GRIECO was SIMPLY AMAZINGLY PERFECTLY GORGEOUS!! I was SO PISSED they canceled this show -- did NOT even give it a chance FOX FUCKED UP!! I can't believe I'd forgotten this show until I heard Hot in the City on the radio and remembered. Loved this! The opening is so great. I forgot how hot Richard Grieco was. It'd probably be pretty dated now but I'd like to see it again.

No. I loved this show. Had a lot of seriousness, action ,and humor which I always liked growing up. Loved "Hot In The City" for the intro. Although my brother always joked around with the name ,and called it "Hocked In The City. "

I actually liked this show a bit. I remembered episodes like: The Simpsons, 21 Jump Street, Booker, and Married With Children. Those shows were signature shows for FOX at the time going up against the traditional big 3 networks such as: ABC, CBS & NBC. And they were a bit successful on sometimes beating the big 3 networks in ratings. At that time, those feats were considered impossible as FOX was a fairly new network competing against the big 3 for primetime ratings.

It wasn't really so much a "'90s style", as the series existed only during the 1989-90 season. True '90s fashion of any sort didn't really creep in until 1992-93.

Another show I got into that disappeared after only one season. The opening song Hot in the City by Billy Idol no longer plays on the opening credits on the streaming sites. Apparently the rights to the song weren’t maintained so it was replaced by a generic song instead. I tried watching an episode and thought, this is not the opening song. Did I fever dream it was Billy Idol before? But no I was right. The song was replaced.

Mary Aylward Don't really know Mary. He never officially admitted a drug problem. But this looks like the result of long-term effects of drugs, maybe combined with some unsuccessfull plastic surgeries. It's sad cause Richard had really flair and a sexy aura and i say that as a full blooded guy. He has a cameo appearance at the end of the Jump Street 22 comedy, where he looks a bit better , but you know how they can make you look much better in a movie ;-)

Depp left Jump Street after Season 4, which was the same year as the first season of Booker. After that, both shows suffered & started to go south, then Grieco started getting restless to jump to movies like Johnny did.....Oh well, coulda/shoulda/woulda both been bigger shows.
