Youll love New York... we did. Worth going this time of the year too. Make sure you go to the top of the Rock for the best photos as you can see everything from there. Also just off Times Square is a BBQ restaurant called Dallas BBQ which is amazing. Have a great time!

A good tip to be aware of, Andrew. If you go to Times Square be really careful with all the characters in costume. They will all demand payment if you take any photos with them and they can get pretty unpleasant if you don't pay up. In general be very careful in that particular tourist trap. Otherwise enjoy your trip.

Go on the ferry to Staten Island and you will see the NY skyline and the Statue of Liberty. Much cheaper than other boat offers.

I went for my 30th and 31st birthday and stayed at the Roosevelt hotel. It snowed on my second visit and we were in little Italy and it was just like being in a movie. Not sure I’d like to go again as it’s gone downhill in the lat 20 years I believe

I always book trips same way as you, always direct with Airline and Hotel after a Skyscanner / Expedia Search, only exception is Car Rental always cheaper than the main sites, even with VIP membership

I’ve spent 2 Christmases in NY it’s amazing amazing amazing. Such a shame Saks on 5th Avenue light show are not on this year . But you will love it . I stayed in the W New York 1 year and RIU palace Times Square with breakfast included the other year . You must go up the top of the rock and do the Edge . I love NY . Enjoy

I've been to NYC twice, Oct & Nov but my bucket list is to go at Christmas. Weirdly, November I was in Jean's & Teeshirt. Oct was freezing 🥶. In Nov we did 4 nights 5 days & didn't stop. We were up at the crack of dawn but NY doesn't open until 10 🤣🤣 in Oct we went for a week & we enjoyed it much more as we weren't rushing around everywhere. So jealous, enjoy both.

Oh you’re in for a treat, it’s so exciting there and my favourite city in the world. I wouldn’t bother going to Wall Street - big letdown. Central Park, Empire State, Times Square, Rockefeller Center yes! Depending on the weather a helicopter ride and you must go to The Statue Of Liberty. You may want to get some thermals!!

We were in nyc in October for my 50th. Good bus from Newark airport to manhattan . Coach USA. . Go to hamburger America for very best burger of your life . Also make use of too good to go app . Enjoy

Great to hear of your exciting new trip to New York! Highly recommend the Gangsters and Ghosts of New York by NYC Gangsters and Ghosts Tour (Trip adviser) Plus, Central Park After Dark Tour by Central Park Touring Experience (Trip Adviser again) Apart from that, it was alright, a good adventure but prob won’t go back - We then flew to Orlando (as planned) We now usually go elsewhere for a few days before flying on to Orlando. The first time we did this ‘dual trip’ type thing, we went to Boston (Inc Martha’s Vineyard) then Orlando, which was great. But our No1 trip, was starting in Gatlinburg (Tennessee) which was lovely - Mountain Coasters and bears! (Then Orlando) ‘Food for thought’ 😉 Len ‘n’ Nina x

What a wonderful suprise. Do you have any idea why it is more expensive to fly from the US to Tenerife than from Tenerife to US? I have checked prices and they are out rageous. You can travel from the UK to the US cheaper than I can fly somewhere within the US.

Ahhhh Andrew, you can literally get a Skype THIRTY DAY calling plan to USA mobiles and landlines with unlimited mins for about £2.40......this works great when in Orlando to, used it to call Universal many times, defo look into it, you can even cancel it right away and still use the 30 days!!
