How do you feel about giving used books? In the US it can be harder to find beautiful inexpensive Penguin classics, but I have fond tons of books at thrift stores and used book stores. Since they are usually only a few dollars I can give a little collection of books as a gift that way.

+Michelle Bizzell I think that's a great idea! Especially if you can do something fun to wrap them together with a bow or something :)

+booksandquills That would be so cute! :) I love to include a note as to why I think the person will like it.

This is so helpful! Thank you! The Unknown Unknown sounds great! Can't believe how cheap some of these are! 80p!! If only... because of import charges, everything is crazily expensive in South Africa!

+Martha - It isn't just for men obviously, but since I find dads and grandads quite tricky to buy for, I thought this would be a good suggestion.

9 minutes ago, and I'm not even subscribed, just looking about the mini black classics. Quite coincidental. As a 15 year old who's never properly read, and even then I'm more into history and non fiction rather than fiction, does anybody recommend it or should I just stick to history which is what I enjoy?
@AuroraWhispers9 жыл бұрын
+TheKlanMan Why not try historical fiction? :P
@drewg.47799 жыл бұрын
I think you'd really like The Book Thief by Marcus Zuzak, it's a YA historical fiction about world war 2 that's really popular. It's a bit long (~550 pages), but if that doesn't intimidate you you should give it a try. Night by Eli Wiesel is a nonfiction book about the holocaust, and it's really short. I don't read much historical fiction, but if you're interested in book outside of that some popular books are Harry Potter (YA/children's fantasy), anything by John Green or Rainbow Rowell (YA contemporary), or Ready Player One or The Martian (adult sci-fi).

you should read Crusade in Jeans, which is written by one of my and Sanne's fave authors.
