I watched the show (My Brilliant Friend) on HBO before reading the books. I became OBSESSED with the story and the characters, it´s truly an amazing novel series and the show is great also. Hopefully you´ll like it as well!

Gilead is one of Obama's favorite books and one of his favorite authors and he interviews the author which is very interesting to listen to!

Story of a New Name is my favourite of the Neapolitan books. After you’re done with the series, you should absolutely watch the HBO show, it’s an excellent and faithful adaption that masterfully realizes the world Elena Ferrante builds in her writing.

I have a list of books to pick up in America when I go this autumn because the covers are just sooooo much better on so many books. They are killing it. I am planning on reading the Booker shortlist, though I quite fancy the whole Longlist tbh, intrigued which ones will be make it when it’s announced… and then I’ll get cracking on it.

Did you read Station Eleven and The Glass Hotel before you read A Sea of Tranquility? Because ASOT doesn't make much sense if you haven't read the other two beforehand. For your congested skin, I recently got Paula's Choice Azelaic Acid booster and it's been so great for my congested skin. Also, brown really really suits you, Jess!

Hey I’m wondering if you can help, I watched one of your book vlogs and you mentioned something about people trapped inside a dome. It sounded like a really good book, I thought it was a Neil Gaiman book but I have no idea what it is called and can’t find the video again where you mention it, do you know the name ? Haha
@rachaelcoombs88502 жыл бұрын
I think thats a Stephan King book ! Can’t remember the name tho

Great to see you back and that your trip went well. I hope America didn’t treat you poorly. I need to read the Delillo books on my shelf, they sound intriguing. Also, I am about halfway through Babel and so far it is solely based in academia at Oxford and the characters are just beginning to venture out as they get closer to graduation. It is completely different so far from Poppy War trilogy. I’m trying to read it slowly because the recommendation that I heard was super positive and suggested absorbing it a little at a time to fully savor it. The writing is terrific and super accessible. It seems like one you would enjoy. It’s got a taste of fantasy with a magic system, but so far, that is a small part of the story.
