When I saw "half an inch of water" I was afraid you were experiencing flooding. 😂 Glad to see I was wrong. I'm glad you enjoyed Wicked. I had been wavering, considering trying it again but I think its a mismatch for me and probably left alone. I'm glad you love your new couch. The lawn people should replace your plants. How rude! I hope whatever other stress is going on, that things will get better.

It definitely could have been! weve had flash flooding the past 2 weeks, but I am fortunately at decently high ground nothing bad for me. Phew. Wicked is probably not one for you, its so over the top heavy handed, all over the place in terms of story, and just dripping with quirky writing, if you arent into it right away it would only get more annoying I think.

I love Wicked the musical! I have a vague feeling that I read the book as well and thought the ending much sadder in the book, but the memory is so fuzzy I can't even be sure I really read the book. I hear you on feeling so overwhelmed with even small setbacks when life is so difficult - I've been feeling like that too and I'm not going through anything like what you've been going through. So sad about the flowers. I'm glad you got a new couch, though!

I've seen Wicked live as many times as I possibly can, it's probably my favorite musical at this point. Have you seen it with the Broadway or touring cast, or a local production? The book is such a weird fever dream, and yes the ending is definitely much sadder, and most of the simplified/happier ending bits do not exist in the book. One of the things in the book I just cannot get over that's so different that I should have brought up because it is so absurd, Nessa Rose in the book isn't paralyzed, she was born with no arms and for some reason can't walk because of that....WHAT? Every time it came up I was so baffled, but I think the whole point was the absurdity.

@@ReadBecca I first saw Wicked in London, and then I think Sush and I have seen it both in the bay area as well as the Seattle area. My memory is a bit faulty, but that's what I seem to remember. No clue who the cast was for any of the shows, though! Also, I agree with you that Nessa's case sounds so strange in the books!
