Had the pleasure of watching it live and i got to say, words can’t describe the absolute wonder this was. My hands was hurting from all the clapping we did and the standing ovations to the great performers who left us craving more and more of it. I would absolutely go again if ever it came back to stage.

This was one of the most beautiful stage shows I have ever seen in my entire life and quite honestly I wouldn’t mind going and continuously watching it over and over again because as much as I love the film Mughal-E-Azam I love the show, and I am so glad that Feroz Khan recreated this classic ❤️

Had seen this in Dubai at the Opera. It was mesmerising. Actor who played Akbar was the best, but i loved the dance, choreography and the stage placements. Absolutely beautiful.

I had been ardently waiting for the day when India will take commercial stage productions more seriously such as in the West. Instead of literally flocking to Bollywood films constantly. Yes, this is the right step in the right direction, in fact, the very first Indian musical onstage a la Broadway I am hearing of. A thousands year old musical tradition in India, it's about time for this.

This is a perfect example of the colonization of the mind. Just because it is theater, it should not be compared to Broadway. OTOH, by calling it better than Broadway, one betrays an inferiority complex. Broadway is Broadway, it is neither inferior nor superior. Wanna bet that MeA-The Musical doesn't end up on Broadway?

Agreed! One production cannot be compared to an internationally acclaimed theatre industry such as Broadway in New York or West End in London. It is meaningless. It would have been more appropriate to draw comparison to productions of Marathi, Gujarati, and Hindi Theatres which descended from Parsi Theatre (1850-1930s).

Well, in terms of technical capabilities, production value, marketing, ticket sales, manpower and time to develop, Broadway( or rather, Western musical theater) IS superior. It's a billion dollar industry, from professional shows on West End/Broadway to regional productions to touring productions to amateur productions. Indian theater (the industry not the artform) doesn't have the weight, diversity or draw of Broadway.

mahnoor sheikh Aur Jo musical theatre ke actors h wo bhi bas woi h. Agar ek musical theatre actor Madhubala ji ki jagah nahi le sakta to Madhubala ji bhi ek musical theatre actor ki jagah kabhi nahi le skti thi. She didn't even sing the songs on her own anyways, Lata Ji ne gaaye unke gaane. Madhubala was talented indeed but not comparable to a hard working musical theatre artist.
