I finally got the bushes into my Z3 subframe so it can go back in to the car. It took three revisions of my DIY removal/fitting tool and a lot of lubrication, but they're in.
Plus in this episode, ‪@Whereswally606‬ drops in to work on his upgraded Nissan Leaf, trying to trace a fault that's preventing him from fast charging.
And I finish sketching out the location of the lights on my Z300S rear end, ready for cutting. Scary!

Thanks Tom. Fixed the diesel heater today with Mo. Now i feel like an eberspacher Pro. Also traced the insulation issue to the muxsan pack contactor on the +ve side. Ive footage of the diagnosis so i just need to get round to uploading it all. massive thanks to Patrick Hughes for his help behind me in you garage.

Was hoping you'd report back. I want to add isolation monitoring to the beetle at some point.

@@JamieJones1985 sorry Jamie i did mean to but ive got so many projects being juggled right now that battery extenders has dropped to the bottom at the moment. Also i think you are probably a ways ahead of me in the knowledge dept of the complexities of doing the diy ev from scratch. My experience so far is trying my best to make my leaf and now env200 better.

@@Whereswally606 looking forward to it. Interested in how the contactor was causing isolation loss

@@JamieJones1985 yep a low 12v battery, cold day, couldnt keep/open the contactor fully. Then must have arched and caused some damage which is now causing voltage leak on the positive side of the contactor in the extender pack. Will be fine with the new one which is on its way from muxsan in the Netherlands

Oh really? Bugger - got it reinstalled now! I'll stick them on the spare one when I give that a full refurb. Will get it properly tidy when I have the time.

It may be worth trying to lose the screws of the control arms as long as you have the axle out of the car. Looks like it's easier to do it now than later, even though you're not changing the bushings 🤔🤔
