For the same reasons that you mentioned I actually never read a romantic book during my school days 😂 though I badly wanted to. Still today I think twice before buying a romance novel in fear of being scrutinized & if I do I check that the cover is decent enough & the title isn't very obvious 🤷‍♀️ Anyways loved your video 😄 but I have bought Fault in our stars & didn't find it cringeworthy & I recently bought Wish I could tell you by Durjoy Datta & it wasn't cringeworthy at all.

Now I am so embarrassed to admit that Chetan Bhagat's'half girlfriend' was my first English novel ever I was like 16 and just finished 10th grade and had nothing to do so I borrowed this book from my neighbor and read it in like a week and mainly because, I was obsessed with the movie song 'mein phir bhi tumko chahunga' by Arijit singh (before that I read The blue Umbrella by Ruskin Bond but that was a novella I think).I didn't loved the book but thought that it had some good advises on how to improve spoken English skills.😅
