Hi inger, I have never read a Dorothy L Sayers Lord Peter Wimsey novel but I have seen some of the books portrayed on television as a series when I was a child. I do plan on reading one of them as they are so well known here in the UK and I believe the stories are set during the roaring twenties. 'Have His Carcase' I am told is worth a read so will certainly give it a try later in the year. I have 'Devotions' by Mary Oliver and I agree she really does capture the 'ordinary' and make something beautiful with it in verse. 'Wild geese' is one of my favourites of hers. Gertrude Stein is certainly someone I have heard of but have never read her work. The 'Food' book does sound very surreal. 'A Light in the Moon' does make sense but I don't believe this is a poet I would want to read more work of. Thank you inger I have enjoyed your book review very much, very thought provoking and thank you for reading the poems out. Have a great week!

@@carolinesimmill4962 Hi Caroline, thank you for your thoughtful comment, as always :) I’ll have to look into ‘Have His Carcase’, the title sounds intriguing! I do also quite like ‘Wild Geese’, though it’s not in the ‘Felicity’ collection. I do plan on buying more of her collections in the future. Have a wonderful week and thanks for watching!

It is! Made me laugh quite a few times at just how outrageous it is.
