Great episode. Very insightful. I noticed an interesting pattern in the gap in what Anuya and Sharin's father's readings were and what we pick off a bookshelf now. What they read wasn't tagged "cool" by being made into a movie or a TV show. Maybe what they read demanded the kind of involvement that only those times permitted. They internalised what they read, while we, and I speak strictly for myself, we want to externalize it, we have this compulsive need to speak about it, tweet about it. There is no harm in doing that but there is more talk and less work nowadays. Their fathers were cool with the end in itself. They didn't have to explicitly make peace with it. It was that way. No frills. While we, we are sadly living in a time where the means and the mediums are shallow enough and wide enough to lock us in and drain us out.

this was an awesome episode! I wish I had Anuya's father as a professor in college. He explains concepts so thoroughly and in a practical manner. Same with Sharin's father (even though he isn't a professor by profession). It's so nice to see all the types of books they're passionate about, especially the regional literature.

Oh my God!! Anuya's​ father is same like my mom and mamaji... Although my mom forced me to read a lot of Marathi literature, I left Marathi books after the age of 14. Many of the Marathi books Anuya's father has read are my mom's favourite. Anuya's father is so relatable to my mom. I think I should pick up a couple of Marathi books from my mom's shelf. It is an irony how my taste of books is almost as same as that of Anuya's and at the same time my mom relates to Anuya's father.

All parents are like that only..but, I have found that earlier people used to read all types of literature with their academics. Nowadays, things got vice-versa despite having so much literature and materials on our finger tips not able to complete our academic writings. I feel really sad for this transition. The subscription of this channel itself showing what kind of reading culture we have. Despite having second largest populated country India don't have readers even in lakhs in this channel. You guys are doing great job atleast u are conveying good literature and ppl to follow. Thank you guys for such a wonderful and laborious work. Keep it up.

Jayant Naralikar's some Sci-Fi story was there as a Chapter in English in 7th grade for us. #MajorThrowback It's great to hear different perspectives of different kinds of readers.
