i read the seven year slip and then the bodyguard not long after and both of those were 6 stars to me- i love them so much and i definitely agree they give off the same feeling!!

Felt the same about Fear the Flame! I gave it 3 stars. Felt disorganized at times and like the plot picked up at the end. I also guessed about the bad guy and felt the romance was lowkey insta love lol I heard that in the republished version there will be edits to make it better.

I enjoyed it. It’s very plot focused (still giving lots of character moments, but there’s not much of any romance). I’ve only read the first book, but I do want to get to the second book sometime this year. It didn’t feel like a mind blowingly new story, but it was fairly entertaining and had similar writing to Cassandra Clare if you’ve read the Shadowhunter books. I think I rated it four stars. I would still reread it in the future as well.

i defo didn’t dislike it loads, it’s just a very ‘meh’ book to me. think i read it back in 2020 so i don’t remember much but i do remember dragging myself through it. think it just didn’t really hook me!! loaaaads of people have loved it though so i hope you do too!!

no problem!! i read the first one and reaaally disliked it, and felt the exact same way about this one. mainly i just don’t vibe with the writing, it feels too ‘young’ for me!! so i think if you loved the first one you’ll definitely love the second one🤍
