Ah, Brilliant! and what a great list. I had such a good time with the audio book of Project Hail Mary, only found because of your channel. I enjoyed ‘several people are typing’ but have questions😂 I’ll pop over to discord later to discuss👍

Great list, and a wonderful idea for a video! It is nice to be reminded how the internet can still actually be a force for good in our lives, at least once in a while...

Thanks, Lekden 😊The internet can indeed be terrible, but this little corner of it is something special!

Still really glad you enjoyed From Below! Meg was also one that I was inspired to read from various booktubers and it was a real treat. I think there's a lot wrong with the writing of it in terms of frontloading tons of exposition, but as you say the sharky bits were fantastic fun

Oh, goodness yes - there's a lot wrong with Meg! The exposition issue is definitely one thing, but the character work (especially the female characters) is pretty dire in parts too! But it's so utterly ridiculous and fun when it comes to the sharky stuff I can't help but love it. I think the flaws might be a general feature of Alten's writing - The Loch suffered the same issues too, but again the Loch Ness monster stuff was hilariously, ridiculously entertaining!

Great video - I was actually really disappointed by Several People are Typing, which had such a great concept. Dark Matter is one of my all time favourites. Absolutely love that book. Interesting set of books and booktubers mentioned.

Cheers, Gareth! Ah, shame you didn't get on with Several People Are Typing as much as you'd hoped - what was it that you didn't like so much? Dark Matter is fabulous, I do really need to explore more of Crouch's work. Have you read any others of his? Any thoughts as to what I might try next?! 😀

Fabulous video. I’ve hardly read any of these. I think the only one is The Meg which I read during GarbAugust and thought it was brilliant fun. The ones I am taking away from this are Adrian Tchaikovsky generally and also Several People Are Typing. Great idea for a video 😊

Cheers, Debs! 😊I'd absolutely recommend trying some Adrian Tchaikovsky, I think you'd potentially really like his stuff. Children of Time is a good starting point for sure. The Meg is such a great GarbAugust book! All-out bonkers fun 😀
