One of the best teaching tutorials in history. calm voice, simple english and strategically structured to make it as easy as possible. thank you sir. I learnt algebra for the first time and I promise i will easily pass any exam with your tutorials.

I am just learning boolean algebra at my local university. Our course-teacher is really bad at explaining fundamental concepts about boolean algebra. He just teaches us methods. Really glad to see that go beyond and explains the logic behind everything.

Yes, you have 1* 0 * 0, that's why you get B' and C'.. remember that negating 0 is saying 1, in boolean algebra. So the point is , you want your function to give you 1 if you have 1 0 0 as input... How you do that? Simple, you just want to have those zeros negated on your expression, and you get A.B'.C' ... so you have A=1 , B=0 and C=0 but you negated both B and C so your expression will end up 1*1*1 resultind in 1, which was what you wanted... I'm sry that i'm just answering 8 months later

@Holyfrik1 yes, I plan to do that - I plan to finish Karnaugh maps soon, then introduce to De Morgans theorem. However I don't know yet where to squeeze minterm-maxtern-canonical yet.

Its starting to get vague at 2:50, if I want to create an expression that equals to 1, I can simply use A+B+C which equals to 1, or A+B(negated)+C, or AB+C(negated), or A+BC, or A(negated)B(negated)+C(negated), or many many other combinations, so the question is why you chose AB(negated)C(nageted). And you said screw zeros, but didn't explain why

I know this reply might be too late to be of use to you, but for future readers scrolling through the comments: I think the expressions he uses are meant to obtain 1 for that line and that line only. He then adds those expressions to obtain an equation for the whole truth table.

Does it matter which order I put ABC in the table? And if it does how do i decide the order.

How does A.B'.C' = 1? surely its 1 * 0 * 0 - which is equal to 0. and not 1*1*1? I mean if A were a 1 then we write A, if A were 0 we write A' What has he done in this one?

Because he is looking at both B and C. You are a correct, a negative times a positive is a negative. When at least one of the values is a one then you get a one. Also you write the expression wrong it's A + -B.-C. That's A OR negative B and negative C. As we know A + -A.B would equal to A + B.

how do u explain this combination at 6:14 - 1 1 0 = 1, i could'n understand this....... please help..

other question please : is it correct that ¬(A ∨ ¬B) should be made ¬A ∨ B then we carry on evaluation ? or for example if A is 1 an B is 1 it comes to not(1∨ 0) and then is: 1 or ¬1∨ 0 and is then 0 ∨ 0 then False '0' ?
