Overture only exist in CGI. Their single seat demonstrator still hasn't flown. How will it cruise at 1.7 mach with 140,000 pounds of thrust. I wish them the best but I'm VERY skeptical.

I'm 90% sure of their success at this point. The new startup, small team, visionary CEO, that's all a feature now, not a bug. That's just where we are in the industrial and technology cycle of our history. The large legacy companies are driven to maintain markets, not disrupt them. All the innovation seems to be coming from startups. Look at the engineering tools of today. Fantastic. Concorde engineers used slide rules. I just don't see any major technology challenges here. The market is there. Just flew 787 1st class--nothing special at all--still wanted it to be over--give me Mach 1.7 any day. Concorde WAS commercially successful for 27 years, then taken out by FOD from a DC-10 and 9/11. Bizjet seat miles are way more expensive than Overture--with some decent limo to plane-door care and feeding, there are a lot of wealthy who would migrate back to commercial flight. Just need to stay away from the commercial terminal nightmare.

visibility in the cockpit will be an issue, not sure how they can solve that but hopefully not the concorde way😅. even with the best of the best avionics you still need a visual to land, some sort of glass is the only way i see possible

I'm not an engineer by any means. I barely made it thru highschool. Now, having said that, Sud-Aviation came up with the commercial supersonic concept around 1960...la Super Caravelle. Then they joined forces with the limeys of BAC. There you have the "concordance"... Nineteen freaking sixty! And of course, the fixed sinusoidal delta wing is the best they could get in those days' technology budget. Does it have to be mention the high drag/low lift ratio at low speed? A quarter of into the twenty first century, and you're gonna tell me they can't come up with variable wings?! Which by the way, es más viejo que andar a pié! Comprende?
