You use the word "leaking" for the stock bpv part... are you sure its not intended to do that to prevent turbo flutter so that it doesn't slowly wear out the bearings in the turbo? I'm not convinced that its "leaking", I'd be more inclined to believe its built to do that on purpose. Because stock WRXs and STIs don't have turbo flutter. But after installing this part, they DO have turbo flutter, which tells me that compressed air is escaping through the turbo..

From what we've seen, not every valve leaks from the factory. In this case, ours did, so we do not believe that it is intended to leak. The flutter you are referring to is the piston opening and closing rapidly. By this design, it only releases enough boost to prevent compressor surge, not all of the pressure.

Ok so I have the bpv but I'm scared to install it due to compressor surge. Im just trying to look out for my turbo and the health of it long term. Would installing this product affect long term reliability of my turbo? Also everyone says the flutter is not from the bpv but from compressor surge. Can you help me by answering these questions please?

so if this is rated for up to 75 psi, and is non adjustable, does that mean that when I let of the gas, up to 75 psi will build up before it is released and re-circulated? would that not cause surging in the turbo?

No, this just means it will be leak free up to that pressure. Our BPV requires a pressure differential across the piston to open it. Letting off the throttle will allow the valve to open since the vacuum port will see vacuum.

Even if your valve is not leaking, this piece boasts far superior construction. It will hold boost pressure better, more steady, and not have boost spikes/surges.

No tune is needed to run this piece. This BPV will work on a vehicle that is totally stock as well as a modified vehicle. It is meant to be plug and play as possible. In regards with warranty, in short, innocent until proven guilty. Certain dealers can be more picky than others when it comes to aftermarket parts. Some dealers are fine with mods whereas other dealers will not accept any mods. We always tell the customer to ask the service advisor first for what’s acceptable at any given dealership and if you have any doubts to return the car to stock form before bringing it in to a dealer. This part is easily installed, so if you ever did want to remove it before going to a dealer for service, it can be removed very quickly. Furthermore there is a law called the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act that states in order for a dealer to deny warranty work on your car, they have to prove the aftermarket part you have installed caused your issue. For example if your window stops working and you have a cold air intake, the dealer is not going to void your warranty. It is illegal for a dealer to void your warranty for simply having aftermarket parts installed. If you have any further questions, please let us know!

I'm confused. Why are you putting pressure on the vacuum side? I thought the vacuum side is under vacuum when you lift off the throttle and the throttle plate closes and the intake side is still under pressure from the turbo. The pressure on the inlet side, as you are applying in the video, along with a vacuum on the other side is what opens the valve fully redirecting all the air away from the intake manifold, that air travels out the opening where its making bubbles in your video and you said its escaping? Is that not the point? And its not even fully open with the positive pressure on the vacuum side, would that not push the push type valve to the close direction not allowing the air to by pass the manifold? Thanks

We made this video to show how under all circumstances our BPV will not leak and just how easy it is to get the OEM unit to leak. The OEM unit is made from rubber and plastic and is known to rip and leak boost whereas our unit is made from billet aluminum and features a brass piston with multiple o-rings to ensure leak free operation to over 75 PSI.

This piece will work on the 2019 WRX. Even on the 2019 they are using the plastic style BPV prone to leaks, so it would be beneficial to upgrade to ours.

This is not going to change boost levels. It is a direct replacement for the stock BPV. There is no tuning required.

EvoLou1126 this will certainly help to reduce the "bounciness" of the stock BPV. The bouncing happens due to the way the OEM one is leaking boost. Our BPV has been proven to hold boost much more consistently than the OEM unit.

Our BPV has been tested for quite some time on local vehicles [modified and stock] and as well as on our WRX shop car for thousands of miles. We wanted to make a final piece that was safe and not mess with the AFRs on the FA20. In regards to the fluttering you hear, it isn’t turbo flutter so much as it is the sound of the BPV opening and closing rapidly. This is pretty normal due to the small size of the WRX turbo. Our BPV features an all billet aluminum construction with a brass piston design. This is much superior to the plastic piece that comes with the car.
