I know that Corvair...It has a new interior thats gorgeous. It was coverted to 12v, ran great. My buddy owned it and traded it in at a dealership for some crappy Subaru (I know, dumb. They gave him 2k...I told him Id buy it for that money. Heck, Id have given him 3 or 5k. He never told me). So it went to auction and ended up there. The wheels are what give it away as his, and the rust on the rear deck lid. It was starting to fade back then but man it let go. Also the nose was repainted, and clearly not well. Such a shame, since it was a really solid car.

Corvairs are on top tho for the classic look and being able to get a decent daily driver under 5k. They also had a very simple motor that is usually reliable and parts are very cheap. Basically rear engined 60s Camaro for 10% of the price and maybe the same speed if you get a corvair with a turbo or turbo it yourself

Also, not true about restomods the only money making ones. Original, numbers matching, clean still is kind. Im Gen X and I fell in love with Model As and Ts. Not hot rods, just stock ones. Also, 40s cars and some 50s cars. It rubs off on you, and its the original car that gives you a peek into life in those eras, no blue tooth, no comfy massaging seats. Its how life and driving was in those eras and experiencing that is amazing. I grew up in a 72 Continental. Its been my dream car and found one, same color as our family car (dad inherited it, since we were beyond dirty poor, immigrant defector family). I still love 3rd gen Camaros because I had one in HS, and the same with Grand Prixs (G body, 82 2dr with a Ford engine lol). But that Continental still hits home, hard. That mustang also can be really nice. the C code cars were the highest interior trim. I dont remeber off top of my head, but they had the Pony package, and other cool little bits (and the outer graphics, which looks like a C around the fake quarter air vent, makes it easy to remember). Sure, price is a bit high, but the body looks non rotted. Sand blast, weld subframes and all good. Also, the Crown Vic front wont work at all on the Mustangs. You're thinking of the F100 trucks where the frame rails are at the exact same distance as the CV craddle is. Sure some people want the "look" of the old car, but the whole experience is the car original. I go as far as running points on all my classics. I dont do Petronix of whatnot. I find them less reliable too. Bottom line, I see a lot of Gen X-ers getting into different cars. After a life of wanting that 80s car, some get burnt out. Or some buy it and hate owning it, or others want more cars. I got into the new Mopars (HARD...as in 4 new car payments hard, wipe out savings and eating ramen hard lol). I love them. Its a different feel driving a Super Stock versus a big boat Continental. I even got into Jeeps, but I still love the Panthers (have 2) and the Lincolns (and most late 60s early 70s Ford BBs). You guys do a good show, very good show. Might email you guys but youre way bigger than my channel (for now lol. I learn the hard way). So, hope my disagreement doesnt cause whatever. If this wasnt a 2 year old vid, Id expect at least one OK Boomer (though that meme is played out, but cmon, who doesn love Senzawa!)

let me correct you on the dakota the first generations came with the 2.5l 4 banger, 3.9l v6 and the 5.2l v8. in the second generation they had pretty much the same motors other then the 5.9 coming in the R/T's UNTIL 2000 where they fased out the 5.2l for the 4.7l v8 that made more power but with more power came more problems and that is why you usualy see more 3.9l's or 5.2l trucks on the road the 4.7l was a decent motor its just if you didnt maintain it properly it would fail way faster then the 5.2l ever could
