Most of the "new" words going around make absolutely no sense its like people have forgotten how to speak English and communicate with gobbledeegook words , my boys (in their 20's) have to explain alot of these words , I prefer plain English thank you very much !

When a society is in decline instead of building on the language their goal is to confuse people who aren't part of the "in" crowd to live in cognitive dissonance.

Me too Cindy. I guess I'm old and I hate it that we learned cursive writting...no longer taught...math and English find kids graduating and can do neither. I think it's killing American culture. These kids are a lost generation. Don't want to work...can't count money . Honestly I had 16 cents coming back from. 2 dollars an the high school senior didn't know how to give me 16 cents. Dime. Nickle and penny. We are just a nation destroying itself. Waiting for China to come take us over.

I'm ok being in the same boat as you Mr Gregory. New generations, new double talk to mess with adults. Flappers, Zoot suits, beatniks, hippies, disco crowd, folk music, polka, classic - hard -soft- & more rock. I betcha Plato didn't know what the kids were talking about either 😂
@bensheard3969 Жыл бұрын
It's indicative of a declining society because we are more interested in how it sounds than actually building on the language

Drip was used in 50's. You would say a guy was a drip...meaning boring. A nurd type, not popular or fun to be around.
