Boomer isn't showing you how to build a miniature ferry from scratch, he's teaching you how to build a miniature world with nothing but raw materials, your imagination and patience.

Thank you. It is about the "attached" world to the Ferry as well. The Ferry also represents the "other"fictitious world in the theater of our mind. It gives the miniature world greater scope and purpose. Cheers!

Dear Boomer, simply awesome! Love the way you showed the wet on wet in motion, the effect of the wash indeed clearly visible on the screen. Also, saw and see it happen in real life, was already completely convinced. Nevertheless very helpful shots for those who still forget to wet the surface first. Cheerio

The Ferry was always in the plan from the very beginning. I was supposed to build it after the slip but was distracted with other scenery elements on section one. Now, the Ferry will be finished before the end of this year. 😁

I’ve learned over time to use your method of s*l*o*w approach to gradually work towards the look. It can be daunting to recreate nature and what your eye is actually seeing. I still struggle going to dark to fast 😩. And, as you’ve said many times, there’s no black in nature. This barge is going to be absolutely epic on the layout, pulled up to the slip. Can’t wait for the return of the tug too 👍🏼👍🏼

Yes my brother Boomer, the front looks incredible like real rusted steel! Can't wait to see the stairs & bollards & superstructure & the rest! Awesome craftsmanship & talents. I am a fellow boomer from USA that is a CG artist currently rendering residential for a living, so I can relate to the attention to detail and how the primary efforts come into the randomness of nature and applying age to wear down the "perfect" from a scene! Awesome work always! I love watching your videos Sunday night for inspiration. TY!

Good news Boomer. Dusty will be happy again to watch train action on your layout. The Canadian railways lock out is over. Less than a day. Your HO crews will start their EMD and do shunting move from the ferry to interchange.... Well...don´t know with wich railroad they interchange but.... With only VIA Rail whistling at my crossing, the quietness didn´t last long. Cheers my friend.😊

Wow. I'm becoming more and more of a believer in the wash-on-wash technique as I see what you've done on both the pavement where the track was buried in the road crossing and on the deck here as well. Looking at the "previews" of upcoming segments revealed in the shots showing the superstructure in place and the other details really whets my appetite for future episodes as well as inspires me on parts of my Algonquin icebreaker project. I'm going to have to go back through your older videos and catalog the various techniques you've demonstrated so I can review them before starting my painting of the Algonquin. I think you covered altering HO figures in the slumlord series; some of my Preiser figures may be in for surgery shortly when I need a quick project to keep things moving along. Thanks. Your work has provided literally hundreds of hour of enjoyment.

Hey Boomer, one of the things that makes your vidoes such a pleasure to watch is your attention to the little details of information you discovered through experienc, just like you do with your models. I've experienced the magical drying affect of acrylics and learned to trust that the end results will turnout much better than what the wet paint looks like. My experience using acrylics is that it's rare to use the color straight from the tube as the end results, without blending with another color. For example, liquiedtex Hooker green looks green in the tube until it's applied straight from the tube and will dry black. To make it various shades of green it had to be dry and wet blended with different quantities of medium yellow to produce green terrain for my backdrop. The acrylic craft paints work in a similar way and I tend to use sevreal different colors at once for blending to achieve natural aging effects, wheater dry or wet blending. The more you paint with this method the better you'll hone your painting skills. It isn't a style you would think to use normally. I call it painting like a little kid only with a controlled purpose to achieve a specific outcome.
