Judging by the number of like-ers, and sheer enjoyment at joining the herd-mentality, we're doomed. At least the boomers and some Xers were not as easy to manipulate and turn on each-other. Each generation has things to admire and dislike about previous ones, but they could not be fooled on who the true culprits are; who had been shaping the society. The newest generations - the best example that someone can read hours-and-hours (silly things on their cells) per day, and it will not develop their understanding.

The best art produces incongruent emotions simultaneously like that. With satire, it's humor and angst. Read Jonathan Swift's 'A Modest Proposal' sometime. --It's just an essay, not a book, ha. Swift was an Irishman who wrote the Proposal anonymously as if he were an Englishman, proposing to ease the suffering of the poor Irish by buying off their children to eat and make things with their skins. I'll post a link in a separate (next) reply. If it's not there, it's because a bot deleted it. But it's the first Google result, a free read hosted on the Project Gutenberg ebook website.

They complained for a good reason. Boomers were 7900x more likely to die from Covid than the people wearing gray wigs and taunting them in the video. And they did die, by the hundreds of thousands because people the age of those in the video wouldn't wear masks. This video was dancing on graves.

@@truthmatters3871 Exactly! Why wouldn't the people most likely to die from Covid-19 get the vaccine? I'm a Boomer who has several underlying health issues that put me in the severe risk category for Covid-19, but I didn't complain about waiting in line behind doctors, nurses, other health care employees, first responders, nursing home residents, teachers, and other front line workers. When I got pushed back in line behind prisoners, well that got some grumbles out of me. Also, every time younger people start complaining or joking or making skits about Boomers, they forget that we aren't all white haired retired people with no debt and secure retirements. In fact, tens of millions of us are still in our 50s. Those of us at the tail end of the Boomer generation didn't get to come out of college with zero debt like the earlier Boomers did. We are just as likely to have had big college debt as the Gen X people who are just a few years younger than us, and are just as likely to be struggling with huge medical expenses and paychecks that haven't kept up with inflation. There's Boomer democrats. 48% are democrats and 46% are republicans. However, the Silent Generation are more than half Republican leaning. (As of 2019). Don't forget that most Boomers grew up with free love, student activism and started the social and civil rights movements. It's just cultural perceptions and stereotypes that lead to this misconception. A greater number of millennials are Democrats. But many will become more a bit more conservative by their elder years as studies have shown most people start to become more so as they age. Not to mention that those that have worked for longer and benefited from the better economy before the recession in their careers are more financially stable. Unlike younger generations who struggled starting their careers in the most economically uncertain time since the Depression.

They don't know anything about the boomer generation, 550,000 of which just died because people like the cast members refused to wear masks. Boomers fought for civil rights, fought against war, invented everything that makes your life easier, and a hell of a lot of them are poor. The boomer men went to college on the GI bill after they got out of the military--if they got out alive. The majority of boomer women never got a chance to go because the misogyny didn't allow them to go. @@hummingbird_saltalamakia First, you misquoted Franklin (although a lot of people do). Franklin was defending the right of a State Assembly to tax all its citizens, not some sort of individual right to ignore the public good. Third, even without that context, wearing a mask is not giving up your "essential Liberty." Is it giving up your liberty to have to wear pants? How about not smoking next to other people in restaurants? The latter example is pretty close to our Covid situation. You don't have a right to poison or infect others. And the purpose of wearing a mask is not to gain a "little temporary Safety"--it's to prevent serious illness and death....I doubt you are from America, but if you are, you're seriously misinformed, both about Covid and about American history.
