He is so accurate. I'm a Gen X. When people begin to give a long "peptalk speech" about the future and what they want it to look like, I'm already tuned out and figuring out ways to make it happen. I am one of those independent thinkers and workers. Tell me what you want done and I will do it. I don't need you hovering over me. I had a boss that was an extreme micro manager, so much so that it affected my physical health. I left after about 1.5 years.

as a millenial, I strive for indipendance. We have grown up being over-protected and now face living with our parents. It's not friendship we're after but freedom

At Age 50 today, whatever negligences, emotional trauma & crimes the Boomers visited upon me- - esp my Boomer parents- - is as unchangeable today as Roman Times. As a GenX I only care about the past to the extent that I must learn from it. In retrospect I can see how much of what is said in this video & in these comments holds true about how Boomers destabilized the integrity of family by becoming promiscuous, normalizing divorce, & causing the very first divorce epidemic. I can see the damage done from their putting career (work-a-holism) & moneymaking first. But I have neither the time nor the will to dwell on it... Relative to my income, taxes & medical costs are high. No doubt I'll be working until Im at least 72; maybe even longer if Im fortunate. At 18 & 30 my children are out of the nest. I cut all ties with my still-practicing hardened alcoholic father 8 years ago. Growing up my sister & I had no choice but fill the void he left behind, both financially & socially. And for those of you who know & understand the "substitute husband" situation firsthand, my responsibilities for the home & for supporting my mother began at 12, when my father attempted ro get me to accept his SECOND divorce & my SECOND stepmother. I stopped visitations with him from then on, and mostly banished him from my life. The very next year my sister married & washed her hands of all responsibility to my mother, because she wasnt paying her a wage as she worked for my mother's janitorial business. My sister cut all ties from me in 2004 These arent complaints, they are FACTS. Just another example of the longstanding & forever consequences visited upon my family as a GenX kid. I dont have time for pity & I stopped pointing the finger of blame & it was the hardest thing I ever did, but I eventually learned to get back to living my life blame, anger, & hate free. That was three years attending AA, 3 years in private therapy, & unemployed the entire time. But it was well worth it. Sure, GenX is gonna be cleaning up the mess our parents left for us, probably for the rest of our lives. All I can do now is do the best I can; thats all thats left for anyone. My children take care of themselves now. Im looking after my last remaining elder, my mother. All grandparents, great aunts & great uncles are buried now. The last one was my paternal grandmother; cremated in 2009. Millennials & GenZ will have to manage the best they can, too, as we strive to provide them rhe guidance & emotional support we never knew For others on this chain, I dare say when you stay focused on doing what you can instead of wasting valuable energies on playing the blame game & dredging up the unchangeable past, you will have neither the time nor the will to fall into that trap. Whats gone is gone. All thats left is to do our very best, today & tomorrow. Thats all ANYONE can do ✌

I'm a Gen X but Boomers are only 2 years older than me, so I can't see them as a generation I'd be "in conflict with." My parents were the Silent Generation--the one before the Baby Boomers. I think most Gen X parents would have been Silents not Baby Boomers. I remember having Baby Boomer school mates.

@@erichamilton3373 It depends, because if you're born in 1967, then only are boomers only two years older than you. By 1980 (the last year of Gen X), no doubt that most Gen Xers were the offspring of boomers, not Silent anymore.

I'm a fellow gen-x. Your life experiences are similar to mine. Like you stated, we can only learn from our past. We can't change it. The bad try not to repeat

2:20 I got it! We're in the end times that's why the generations are called X, Y and Z.

Peculiar you should bring that up. I always wondered, does that mean GenZ will literally be the LAST generation when Armageddon begins?

@@magnificentmuttley154 I think we are in the end times right now. I expect aliens will be released to the public soon. They call it disclosure. It will probably be the antichrist who claims to be an alien. In any event, I'm 100% convinced that things are going to get MUCH crazier.

@@markflierl1624 Well, no doubts about conditions getting much worst. As I look around me II see 9 out of 12 of Jesus' composite sign at Matthew 24 fulfilled... Hitler was no doubt the antichrist of his time. Right now I can only wonder if its Trump or maybe Kim Jun Il

I don't think this video has aged well. Now in 2022, it seems it's Baby Boomers vs Millenials, and the young just call anyone over 50/45 a boomer. To them Gen X is just a bunch of Boomers since Gen X is pretty forgotten about. I think as the years go on, we're just gonna get called "Boomers" more and more. Gen X are the Boomers of tomorrow.

The fact that GenX was called X to indicate it did not know where to fit is an indicator that the Generations delimiters don't work and are not real.
