@@charafnassor9169Nah there’s one rail line that stops running after 6pm and is doing the work of what should be 3 different lines. It’s awful.

Austin had a nice mid-sized skyline in the 80s, 90s & 00s. It has not had a decent new tall building since the Frost Bank Tower was built.

Actually, was just in the News a couple of days ago, the 'Tallest Building in Texas' was Turned Down. KLBJ 590/997 Proposed tallest skyscraper in Texas fails to receive approval - KVUE 2 days ago ... In an article from the Austin Business Journal (ABJ), the skyscraper's developer, Wilson Capital, failed to gain approval from the City of ...

😲" According to news reports, It was just rejected due to design issues and lacking public interaction with the surroundings. Austin's STILL a red hot and diverse market, despite current Tech Industry woes. Unless the economics fail, I doubt the proposed Wilson skyscraper won't happen. "

@@3618499 very true. The Wilson Tower is still far from being cancelled.
@baopham8676 Жыл бұрын
The Wilson tower did not get approval bc of the lack of retail space at street level in its design. I'm confident that the developer will make the right adjustment

That’s a different building. The Waterline is slightly shorter but will also now be the tallest building in Texas

With all this room in Texas it makes no sense to build all these buildings on top of each other traffic is already horrendous in Austin especially I35
@yorklovesrush Жыл бұрын
Encouraging people to live in suburbs and become car dependant instead of living in dense walkable neighbourhoods certainly won’t help traffic

I am a 59 year old native Austinite, and our skyline use to be pleasant to look at, but over the years, the city council has allowed our skyline to become uglier than sin. It is atrocious. It's horrible to look at, and whoever allowed some of these buildings to be built should be tarred, feathered, and run out a town on a rail.
@mq827 Жыл бұрын
How dramatic. Austin has become a big city, that’s all it is. More people = more dense = more big buildings, not rocket science.
