Some of the most interesting stuff in the desert areas of the western US are right at your feet. While dry camping near Quartzite AZ, I was poking around near my tent camper and found a flat rock about the size of a small cookie embedded at eye level in saguaro cactus. How fascinating that before I arrived, who knows how long ago, the winds had blown hard enough to pick that rock up and fling it hard enough to stick it in that tough old cactus hide.

One of my favorite places in the West! Great video - you really captured it beautifully. I love the petroglyphs and the watering holes where the bank robbers hung out. Next time you're in Vegas, check out the hike on Mt Charleston to Mary Jane Falls. OMG - you'd never know you were in Las Vegas - stunning. Well done on this - I quite enjoyed it.

My exact words at 6:59 were: "It's amazing how brittle and frail some of the formations are, and they've survived like this for centuries". These formations are in constant erosion, and did not appear like this millions of years ago. Only in the last stages of erosion are they brittle and exposed. Clearer?
