Generators have a special crankshaft mount to hook up to the generator head its self. It is very difficult to connect anything to the engine with this mount. You rarely hear someone say they made such and such from a old generator !!!

Thanks and thanks for watching Tim. It’s gonna be a riot for sure. I have whistles and a whole series of videos planned with my wife running it or setting chokers under it.

Thanks Shane. its gonna be a neat setup. Eric cole's photo's inspired me to do a build. we have 7.5 acres out here in washington state and will thin some of the hemlock and alder out with this.

Neat winch. I'm looking at making a two drum winch out of an old two wheel tractor. I want to be able to wind out through a snatch block and back to the take up drum. Both mounted on a common axle. The axle being the axle the wheels were bolted too. So I can pull a load in on one line, in then put it in revers and pull a second load in on the other side of the line. If that makes any sense. I know its none of my business. But if you work that old winch you should see if you can replace the friction materials. They are going to be in a friable state given there age.

that sounds awesome ! im going to mount a capstan on the side and eventually make another drum to run butt rigging or a shotgun carriage like what you are talking about doing. the idea is to mount it on a trailer or just a car axle so I can move it easily.good idea on replacing the frictions i know they wouldnt last long.

@@DanielBoonesloggingvideos You can see a vid of the tractor and me under "Kultor-King two wheel tractor, Wisconsin AK engine". Posted by oilmaninpowell. I still have to find a proper carburettor for it. The axle used to long ago have a ratchet system on each wheel to allow for a turn. But now its all welded up. Got bolts running thru it etc. I removed a key from one hub so I could turn it for this vid. Like I said I was thinking to replace the wheels with cable spools.... some sort of legs or skids under it. To cut power from the engine to the tranny there is a leaver on the handle bars. It moves the entire engine back and forth thus letting the belt slip or pull.

Eliminate your gas motor on your carriage and use the alternator spinning on the skyline to charge the battery like the old carriages used to charge hydraulic pressure.
@DanielBoonesloggingvideos4 жыл бұрын
That is an excellent idea !!!! Thank you for the input.
