Yeah, it's a bit complex. Again, I'll be showing additional methods in the future, so stay tuned.

I'm sure you have this video idea somewhere in the pipeline, but what would or should you do if you need to texture a map animation that zooms out really far (showing nearly an entire hemisphere) and then zooming super close in (Like on a small individual country)? I tried the repetile method and came across two limitations; the parts that zoomed out really far I often couldn't repetile the whole screen, going past the 20,000 limit, and when I tried exporting a premiere project with those larger maps in them, premiere said the file was too big to export, forcing me to undo all the texturing I had done with repetile. So clearly what I was trying to do was beyond what repetile was made for. What suggestions do you have?

Val! I was a MotionTile man until I found RepeTile in your JH map rig template! I learned this from you my friend. 🙌

@@BooneLovesVideo Hah awesome!! Any reasons to choose RepeTile over MotionTile?
@BooneLovesVideo2 жыл бұрын
@@Mackesomething Yeah, Motion Tile only supports 8-bit, and it doesn't have great blending options.

Yeah, that's a problem. I switch my comp and playback preview to quarter resolution, and have it skip frames when I'm working with lots of layers and high res textures.

Hey Boone, can you what do you think about mapbox vs maptiler? are there any more GIS sources?
@BooneLovesVideo2 жыл бұрын
This is a great idea, but I need to put more time into researching Mapbox. But a quick FYI, MapTiler requires a monthly fee, and is very well integrated with GEOlayers. Mapbox is a little more complex.
@YeHnJaCk2 жыл бұрын
@@BooneLovesVideo yeah, that's what got me thinking about this. if the fee is even worth it. ive only gotten the free few days of maptiler but didnt even have enough time to check it all out because i was still figuring GEOLayers itself. then i found out about mapbox from Vox/Johny Harris and ive been using them ever since.
