I was diagnosed with cancer just over a year ago and the waiting list was just over 2 months even though it was considered an emergency. My wife is a nurse and knows some oncology surgeons, She called them on Friday and I was in for surgery on Monday. I would have been in real trouble if she didn't get me pushed to the top of the list.
