I use ds2 and always have punch. Wonder as a pre spray is spray it and how long does it dwell before spraying…again… with ds2? I assume you don’t want it to start drying out …we talking 10minutes?

A few minutes of dwell time is all that's needed for pre-spraying.

Hi Rick, Im looking to get into the hotel market for commercial carpet cleaning, rooms/hallways, meeting/banquet rooms etc. One thing I've come across in particular with hotels/motels is often times some say that they already have their own machine and they do it themselves. I'm wondering if you have any advice on what I could respond with regarding this to a prospect (especially when they are using an extremely small HWE machine and you can tell they havent really cleaned their carpets in months)? I always make sure to offer a free-demo when I'm out prospecting, but if they say they have their own machine and clean it themselves they tend try to just get me out the door and get back to what they were doing rather than hearing my proposals of service.

It can be tough to penetrate the market when someone is el-cheapo and they just want to do the cleaning themselves. But what I've found is that you can meet them on their turf. Here's what you can say... "I understand that you have your own in-house cleaning. However, as we both can see, there are some areas that can be improved upon (as my demo revealed). Now after you factor in the cost of owning and maintaining a carpet cleaning machine, purchasing cleaning chemicals, training your staff to use them, paying them an hourly wage - plus taxes - workers comp, etc. When you add all that up, I think you may find that my service is not that far off. Especially when you consider that you won't have to deal with carpet problems any longer. In fact if there ever is a problem, all you have to do is give me a call and I'll be right back out here to take care of things for you." See what we've done. we've shown them that they're NOT saving money at the end of the day. That their current maintenance is a bag full of holes. And that for similar money you can take all that pain away from them. Give it a shot, I think you'll have success with that approach.
