Must have the right customers, those that appreciate quality. Those customer are feeling the pinch, my friend. Everyone is feeling the pinch. That is how "they" think they can take us out. In the end, we won't need "them" and we will take care of our family and friends. Keep on keeping on. Prayers!

You do such an amazing job! All the animals look so happy and your farm is gorgeous! How do you and Saundra do it all? I’m blown away. Just started my small farm this past year and it’s humbling how much work it is! I do love it tho!! Just wanted to say the bit with the turkeys bum rushing the fence like it’s Black Friday, was awesome!! I’m raising my first turkeys this year… a slow grower- Blue Slates. They are supposedly all dark meat. We will see! They are seven months old so they take almost twice as long to mature!! Thank you also for the turkey processing video!! Wishing you continued success🙏🏽

Good advice. I* guess I am just too tight for this market. Hats off to you for knowing your market and providing such quality. I cannot see myself paying over $100 for a turkey. But then you knew a long time ago that I am not your market.

33% loss sounds crazy. I've butchered turkeys but never raised them myself. With meat chickens I find 10% is the loss rate e.g. in a batch of 40 birds 4 will likely die prematurely. Well, with my pigs this winter I guess the farrowing death rate was 46% (stillborns, squishes, exposure deaths, etc.), but that's cos we were flying by the seat of our pants and had a bad set-up. Next round we will do better. (Every piglet who survived the first week did survive to be weaned.)

We raise ab 8 a year for family and friends, definitely expensive to raise them up. We feed non gmo soy free so it really adds up quickly! And there’s a lot of labor in them so I understand what you mean by they aren’t very profitable.

Semi-related question: Do you ever have issues with rodents or other varmint getting into your feed? We almost need a vault to keep ours untouched but you seem not to have problems at all. Thanks and blessings

Good morning! The door on the electric netting is genius. Did you make that? Did you have a video on it if you did? That would make our life a lot easier. 😂 Thanks for the advice on the turkeys, we have 13 we need to get sold.

I've never seen white turkeys before. I thought they were ducks at first. I'm used to seeing wild turkeys in the forests around here (eastern shore of maryland) and they have black feathers. I'm wondering, how do you keep Canadian geese and other birds from flocking there and eating their feed?
