Swap your hard drive out with an ssd. I did it in my ps4 slim and it's so much faster and doesn't lag in menus and the home screen and loading times are extremely short

Not quite sure, external HDD uses USB interface, however, the internal HDD of the ps4 uses SATA interface. Better load the entire contents of your external HDD to the ps4 then try rebuilding database

@@sule0098 thats normal when it gets hot. It can go up to ~ 60° dagrees when you play high demanding games. Consoles nowadays and in the future will generate more heat because of more power. As long consoles use air cooler / fans you have to make sure there is enough space around it and clear it from dust once or twice a month (only consider a full dismantle if your warranty is out, not before!). 15 - 20 centimeters space around should be good enough. Put it on a horizontal position on a clear surface and never on the floor! Thats pretty much it.
