I loved Onslaught/Odyssey Type 2 back in the day. ALL ABOUT THE BIRDS! Bird vs Squirrel decks, hurricane vs wraith of god, usually the one who wipes first won UNTIL Soulcatchers' Aerie came around in Judgement. So fun!

​@@BoosterTherapy Back in the day, Bird Tokens did count towards Soulcatchers's Aerie, Battle Screech was nasty. By original Ravnica, I starting running Concerted Effort, share the abilities. I remember splashing some Knights/Soldiers from Mirrodin block with it. BAWH GAWD cats and birds living together Mass Hysteria! Nothing beats equipping a Suntail Hawk a No-Daichi... Fly with the sword in your claws, damn it! ;) I also love me so Samurai and Kamigawa Snake decks! oh, the original Honden decks with Mirror Gallery and Genju of the Realms w/Mishin the Mind Cage. FUN TIMES

My first set was Stronghold. I pulled a Diamond and a Queen from packs and brewed up 5 color slivers. My friends hated it.

For a good scion deck back then you had to do zombie cleric for him I played that deck and won many a local tournaments with it loved this block so much!

My first deck I attempted to make was from a tournament pack from Tempest, Exodus, Mirage and Urza's saga (and a pack of unglued haha shows how much I knew). Wish I could go back and open those packs more now $$$$$$. Miss those tournament packs as well.

That goo card cannot work with a Hapatra deck, as it states creature gets -1-1 until end of turn, not a -1-1 counter.

It feels like today mtg card artworks are so much more generic compared to this time. Like you said, the artwork has a oldschool paint feel to it, more creative and gruesome, fantastic. Nowadays, it feels like every other card looks the same with the same generic human face everywhere. Thanks for the nostalgia, scourge is my introduction block with onslaught. Cheers!

1st MTG purchase was an Ice Age Starter. Pulled a Jester's Cap. Was happy just because it was the pack art lol. Had no clue about value, just had fun playing with my friends. Edit: my mom kept trying to throw out my cards because she thought they were satanic tarot cards. Gotta thank dad for being reasonable and talking to her and telling her to calm down!

I was playing magic since early 2000s but not until Zendikar and Innstrad with the Eldrazi's did I get into MTG fully. That and the commander format. I do not care for standard or modern because by the time I get the deck working it is outdated already. I do love legacy.

Some of the best artists are now gone, Kev Walker is the last oldschool artist standing (Mirage). RIP Quinton Hoover. You saw Hoover try to adapt, the lack of his dark lines and comic book-eqse vibes were gone. Vesuvan Shapeshifter. Guay, Schuller, both Neislens, Alexander, rk post, Weber, Tucker, RKF, Poole, Benson, Spencer.... Interesting RFK Blackblade Reforged artwork for Gideon Spellbook was commissioned long before it was released too (RKF painted Dakkon Blackblade in Legends)
