When it comes to high gain tones, using an overdrive as an input booster is almost a necessity. But which one to choose? Does it make that much of a difference? Let me know which one you like the most!
//
Quando se trata de timbres high gain, usar um overdrive como booster de entrada é quase uma necessidade. Mas qual escolher? Existe tanta diferença assim? Deixa um comentário dizendo qual gostou mais!

Probably one of the best, quickest, and to the point comparison I’ve seen on KZbin. Some just increased the gain, while others tightened the tone as well. You can tell the Mesa flux drive was made to complement the Boogie because that tone was was just money. Ferocious. Biggest surprise, the Boss Sd1, for such an old, non boutique, non modern pedal, it’s really hard to beat for $60.

Mesa or boss sd-1 are my favorites. I use the sd-1 in my board, but i might go check out the mesa. Thanks for the comparison bro. 🤘🏻

Thanks to this video, now I use a SD-1 as a booster instead of some TS9-like pedal. As I play Metal, it makes my tone becomes clearer and tighter, just as I ever wanted. Added a Boss GE-7 in my efx chain and, Jesus Christ, I nailed a tone that was in my head FOR AGES. Thank you so much ! Also VALEU AE, MANO ! TEU VÍDEO É O MELHOR VÍDEO COMPARATIVO DE BOOSTERS DO YT !

I personally don't like the "boosted" sound for rhythm at all, but I watched the video because I'm looking for a "natural" and "non-coloring" overdrive for solos. The NIG Hot Drive was awesome, I'll search for it. SD-1 also did the job quite well, same for TS-9. And also killer made video! That's how you make a comparison! Subscribed!

Reuben Ginsburg Glad I could help! I strongly recommend the Mesa Flux Drive; been using it lately and it pairs up perfectly. Also, experiment reducing the Bass knob on the third channel and boosting the 80Hz fader up to compensate; it tightens the low end real good!

most (if not all) of these pedals were Tube Screamer types, as far as I could tell. could you get a comparison with some different types, like Blues Breaker-, Blues Driver-, and Klon-type pedals?

I am amazed that any Mesa Mark Series can sound good, I couldn't get a good sound after 20mins at the store, sounded like farting garbage. Anyway, the feel and clarity of boosting is worth it every time, the low end rolloff is mandatory for any heavy style, it is easily the most profoundly good thing you can do with a high gain amp, you just have to roll down the gain on the amp

For boosting hi gain amp, sd1 wins. But i think it's a bit too bright if you set the tone knob at noon.

Dude. Thank you so much for this video! I have a question. My amp is a solid state amp so I shouldn't expect the same results as a tube amp but... Does the Behringer TO800 tighten up the low end efficiently like a TS-808 or TS-9? My ears are untrained so I'd really appreciate your input on this.
@wheelsdeal
@wheelsdeal 4 жыл бұрын
They do the trick on solid state as well.If you are looking something cheap get a Joyo Vintage Overdrive they are better made than the Behringer and basically an 808 circuit.
