Someone asked for harder material. And your comment was "yes they were easy" .... But not all people ))) I liked it and I hope there are many more --- even "easy" as some people think. There are not a lot of good, helpful resources to move from reading and writing stuff to listening and saying stuff. But this was great. Looking forward to more if you wish to do them. A big thanks

I love this format. The more I study, the more I find I'm able to read the language, but my listening skills are poor. Listening to and talking with native speakers is of limited help, because I can't tell where one word ends and the next one begins. The way you present the phrases and sentences, stating them twice and giving us time to think and process what we've heard before disclosing the caption, is very effective. Please consider doing more of this type. Спасибо большое!

Hello, and thank you for your extremely useful video. I am a beginner (between A1 and A2), I can easily understand nearly all of your written sentences (except for a few scattered words some here and there), but only 70% of the sentences. I found the reason for this relative failure interesting, and instructive: as a beginner, I basically pronounce each word detached from the others, while you link them up in a continuous, even melodiuos flow, if you will. An example: кто это sounds, to my ear, as a single word with a single stress on the first o, while I pronounced it as "кто (pause) это". So your video not only taught me something, it also clearly pointed out to me the most important area on which I should focus my attention. Thank you.

Thanks for this video, Kristina, I think that's a fun way of learning a language. I have been learning Russian by myself for about 6 months now, almost exclusively with KZbin videos. And from this Video I have understood about 1/3 of the phrases at first listening, 1/3 more at second listening, and for the rest I think I will need some more time... I'm learning Russian because I am planning a longer trip to Russia, maybe 3 or 4 months; I think so much time is needed for discovering such a big and interesting country, and learning a bit more of Russian culture and their way of life. And hopefully also make a few Russian new friends...

Hi Again )))) I think that this one is my favourite. Your format is perfect for me. Without having any hints there for the first 2 times, it forces me to push that little bit more to get them right. Also, I find your speed of talking great and sometimes, if I want to challeng myself, all I need to do, is to increase the playback speed to 1.25. So thanks for the amazing amount of work that you have done in setting these up. I reckon I am gtting closer and closer to taking the next step....... not quite there yet, but feeling positive )))

Проверьте в гугле, во всех словянских языках "в низ" это: польский w dół, хорватский dolje, сербский доле, чешский dolů, болгаоский надолу, словенский navzdol, словацкий dole, македонский надолу. украинском до долу, и только в московитском в низ, get on your knees по по английски. От сюда вот Герасимы и муму происходят.

I am in the process of shelving other stuff that I am using to try and learn Russian. But I keep coming back to your stuff. I understand that it will take a long time to break the glass ceiling of being able to listen, but I hopefully with these types of videos, it WILL happen. This is the best format for me. Thank you very much. There are many other long lists of sentences -- Kendra comes to mind. But I cannot verify with them whether I listened and comprehended. By the way, one or two sentences in this group are duplicates. They were entered twice. As for how many I guessed correctly, I am down around 25% because so many words, and especially prepositions are run together, uttered as if they were only one word, not several.

This is a good exercise no doubt. However, due to the speed, some words sound truncated and only after seeing the translation I recognize them. I will have to listen quite a few more times. I have no problems understanding the written sentences, it is getting the Russian sounds recognized more quickly.

Thank you. I understood quite a lot before the text came up. I found it interesting the way that 'и' is pronounced and the way that 'вы' gets shortened to 'в'. These sentences are good practice for me to recognise how words run into each other such that on first hearing I don't realise what is being said but on second hearing or when the text comes up I say 'ah! I understand now.

This is very useful. I am refreshing my Russian language skills from 45 years ago. more graded phrases would be so awesome. how about a complete 2-sided dialog (both partners) This would be useful. (different subjects or settings) then repeat with only 1-sided dialog where You say one of the people and we get to respond to that with the "anticipated answers". that way we can have an actual conversation with someone (the recording) and do the other person so we can do both sides (but 1-person at a time). I hope this makes sense. it is hard to find someone to talk with.

This is great, but it might help people if you give a more literal translation rather that a thought for thought translation. For example, I know that "я не хорошо говорю по русски" means I don't speak Russian well. But the literal translation is "I not well speak/talk Russian." I'm just saying that, since we don't think in Russian, the word order kind of screws with our heads. Anyway, it's something to consider.

I got maybe 15% right. The combining of words makes distinguishing them individually hard. I know all the words in those 100 phrases and had no issue when the text was revealed. The speed is also a tad high. Probably need to repeat it 15 times...

The speed is slower than during regular speech. I know it´s hard to distinguish words when they are pronounced together but that´s the whole point of this exercise. I bet if you watch the video a couple of times, you´ll get used to the speed, and it´ll become much easier to understand sentences as a whole, not just separate words!

Hi Kristina, love your tutorials-- but having real trouble saying дня .... what kind of practice do you recommend?
@BoostYourRussian
@BoostYourRussian 2 жыл бұрын
Can you say ня without problems? If so, try adding different consonants before ня (бня, гня, вня, сня, пня... дня). First do it slowly and then increase the pace. This will help you get used to different consonant clusters where the second consonant is н.
