Wendell, you are one talented dude! Fine work! And you educated me on some sheet metal tools I didn’t know existed. Thank you, sir!

Thank you sir for the compliment though let's not go too far with the 'talented' thing...heck Martin, I'd barely make a scab on a real tinner's butt. LOL. But that doesn't mean it's not a lot of fun making odds and ends for people on occasion. Gas tanks for make and break engines and breather pipes and caps for antique tractors to name a few..... :-)

Hey there Wendel ... nice job on making the cover. Lots of forethought needed to allow for enough metal for the seams and having the seamer there is pretty handy. You gave some nice tips for fabricating the piece too. Thanks. Take 'er easy!!!
@tractorman44615 жыл бұрын
Good morning Mike. There IS just a little forethought that goes into even a simple little fitting. That's fortunate too, because that's all I have the capacity for..a 'little' thought. lolol. Thank you sir for taking your time to watch.

Good evening Wendel, it was very good learning experience looking at your video Sir. You are an expert on sheet metal fabrication !!! Take care of yourself Wendel Cheers !!!

Good Morning mon ami. Thanks for watching Dave. It was a simple little adapter, but sometimes its actually more difficult to make something small than it is to make a much larger item. There is less room for error in smaller projects. Hardly and expert sir, and more aptly referred to as a somewhat refined 'hack'......lolol. It IS fun to work with, but I wouldn't want to do it every day for a living...I'd starve !!

Thank you for watching one of the older videos. This one was quite easy to fab. If you want to see more sheet metal fab videos give this playlist a shot if you've a desire:kzbin.info/aero/PLk72G9DTzZ1taVZjyeN9DKr52HQ3hhcXd Btw, there's other ones up in the playlists as well. Some with some cool fittings.

Very interesting Wendell! I am always fascinated by such trade skills. Funny you mention about the drone. Dave and I found a new way to move the camera around the shop without moving the tripod with extension cord on the floor in the way and such limited views. I'll include that in a video to come. Dave had an old antenna magnet, that we mounted the camera on. Then I snap the mount under my acticulated jib crane in the shop. This is obviously overhead and we can move it over the working table, from any angle. We've took better shots of our next project. Thanks!
@tractorman44615 жыл бұрын
That's a cool way to video from above Joe !! My insulated shop has too low a ceiling anyway. But that is a real good idea on the swinging jib. I've a huge set of overhead beams outside, fixed on four posts but its where I split tractors and don't really use that area for too many other projects. So unless a random giant comes by and volunteers to video my stuff from above, I'm stuck with the tri pod....LOL. Thanks for the kind comment about the metal project sir. Thanks again for taking the time to watch too.

Practice makes perfect. I have a pair of those Pextos around here somewhere. Good to see another one of your metal bending vids. 😆
@tractorman44615 жыл бұрын
Thank you sir, there'll be a lot more sheet metal vids as I progress on my sons dual system project. Those thinner old Pexto's are much better than the thicker newer style in my opinion.

Thanks Mark, it did turn out ok. Well, I guess I should talk to my buddy and make sure it went in as easily as described. LOL. I've hit a streak of cherry and walnut in the wood pile just in time. I've been burning softwoods for a week thereabouts.

Yessir, I think it did. You'd be surprised just how much these old punches are used around the shop John, just about any time you use a piece of tin. You have a good day too sir !! Keep the rubber side in the dirt man....

Hey good afternoon T! If I lived closer, I'd be happy to come down and man the drone for you. Enjoyed watching the sheet metal come to life as always. I tell you, I could put a pot on and watch your videos all day. Always learn something new. Have a good week. Oh and just one thing... which pub did you get that dart from? LOL. Cheers T!
@tractorman44615 жыл бұрын
Busted !!! The dart is a remnant of days looooong past....LOL. What's the catch word in the Pinterest crowd today.....'re-purposing'....? It's not really 'artsy'...not like making a bunny out of an old sock, but it really does serve its new purpose well in the sheet metal arena. Thank you GP for always the encouraging comment. Oh.... and you'd be welcome to visit anytime...drone or no drone...(-:

Hahahaha.... Thank you for the compliment. Most of the time pieces like this are not easily available and need to be fabricated 'to suit' the particular job. Years ago I did a ton of this kinda stuff, but got a little rusty around the edges the last couple decades not doing any at all....I kept all the tools though !!! LOL. And I thank you for taking the time to watch.
