when you say "from my other network to my other network" what do you mean? How does the phone know where your TFTP server is... Mine is stuck in a loop, but it's not picking up my TFTP server ( does it even know it's there? )

Thanks for the tutorial. Downloading firmware version 8.5(2) fixed the bootloop issue.

Why can't we just upgrade it to a sip firmware instead of going through sccp first to get it out of boot loop? Cant it get out of loop with sip firmware?

Cisco 7962 , when connecting it to the port it goes into upgrading screen. It takes about 1hr to complete. Even after it completed it still doesn't work..I replaced the phone with a new one and it keeps doing the same thing. Any idea why this might be happing.

What do you do with a 7945G that goes into the flashing lights and then goes blank with no way to get any response at all. Just blank screen.

Easy to recover just make sure you have the correct config file and correct firmware

This is so frustrating. I am working with the 7965G. I have done this before with a 7941 but I do not have the firmware directly from Cisco for the 7965. In order to get the firmware you must have a service contract...mine expired and I renewed it but we are going on 3 days with no access still. How custom was your config file "SEPxxxxxxxxxxxx.cnf.xml"?.... What do I need to put in there to ensure it loads properly?

The most important thing is the correct sip firmware and make sure u have it correctly on the config file.

@@theciscoguys Thanks its been a solid 24+ hours of trial and error. They are working and connected to my Asterisk server. The only issue now is that when you go to make a call the dial button does not work. instead you have to wait for it to timeout after about 10 seconds before it will dial the extension or number.

Google Cisco dialplan (you need to have it dialplan on the tftp server)

@@theciscoguys I do have the dialplan.xml loaded on my tftp. Maybe there is an error in it. I feel like it is more than that but I will try it. Do you have a copy of the dialplan you use? Maybe mine is not correct.

Hello, Nice tutorial, Can u help me with 7942G as im upgrading to latest SIP firmware it is showing in the firmware menu as "*"SIP41.8-5-2SR1S"*" remove (") as * was not showing up when added just as star and also in another phone 7975G i the firmware name was ok but when people call me and if they disconnect before i pick the call the phone use to keep on showing the caller ID and keep on blinking with out stop. Please help me on this. Thank you.....
