BOOT Review: My ultimate Jungle boot line up

Thanks for the review! I bought a pair of the altama px jungle boot based on your review. Of the boots I was issued the comfortable ones were the original combat boots I was issued in the early 80's, the Vietnam era jungle boots I was issued in the mid 80's, and the Desert boots I was issued for Desert Storm. I wore out several pairs of the original combat boots over the years, at least three pairs of jungle boots, and two pairs of desert boots. I've walked a lot of miles in all of them. The desert boots didn't last very long but walking day after day in the desert of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Iraq is hard on boots. Looking forward to wearing the altama px jungle boot.

50s and still rocking the jungle boots, I love it. My dad complains about wearing them at 40 lol. I can't get him to wear a pair. I keep telling him they're the best boots ever made, maybe this video will convince him otherwise. I just got my 1968 size 9 Regulars at age 18. Kinda trippy wearing the same boot you would be issued the same age you would be issued them 65 years ago after having been unwillingly drafted...

The padded collar is a nice feature to have, some of the original late 80's black jungle boots have it. I started using elastic laces with a button slider on my military boots and it's easy to loosen or tighten them and they stretch on pressure points. Changing the insole on my original jungle boots makes a really big difference in comfort!

First off, hey thanks for the look and the comment, I seriously appreciate it. 2) I actually think the pocket video thing I was using is from around 2005 but why squabble about it, I have a new one and will be shooting an updated boot review as two new contenders have entered the arena.

I may not actually weart them as often as i should, as at times the wife looks at them and gives me the eye (mostly when heading to town), but I am super serious about wearing them out and ab out on the property. I so appreciate the ankle support and light weight to the jungle boots, they are one thing I have that helps ensure I don't bust my ass on a stone or in a hole. Thanks for the look

The 2nd sole for the jungle boot is the Panama style. Vibram or Biltrite was the 1st company (style).

I'm going to have to revise my video as I have acquired two new pairs, one being the Altama PX-Pro boot and one pair being the Altama WX (which is discontinued but an exact match to what the second iteration of boot was like in Vietnam.

I will be making a video in the next day or two about that exact subject as I have discovered more then I wanted to know about the subject. There are two companies that make what I would call costume boots as they have all of the markings of being 60 years old but they are being made brand new, then there are the Fox and Rothco boots, what i'd call boy scout camping boots, but the best boot i'd trust my life on nit falling apart under me would be the Mcrae's or the Belleville. Both are dress shoe comfortable right out of the box.

Oh goody.. your outside.. I do alot of outdoor things when I buy fixer uppers. Im a tomboy but yet girly girl.. raised with 5 brothers and Dad in the construction business.. so I do go thru alot of boots.. could never find a perfect one.. 🙃

Hey first off thank you for the look and the comment. I hate to kick you down the road BUT this video is OLD and my boot collection / particularly Jungle style has essentially doubled, AND I've done an update to my review of the McRae boot's. I have a playlist or video group or what ever they call it called equipment reviews, i'm sure you'll find the two updated vids there. do you use sole insert's in your boots?

Historically yes, I was going to Walmart and finding the Dr Shoals machine that you stand on and it tells you what insole matches your foot physiology, then i'd order them off of Ebay. The Altama boots are good to go straight out of the box and require no additional insert.
