In the last of our boot series, Randy is at Kenetrek Boots with Marketing Manager Wyatt Nielson, discussing the final stages of boot care. It comes down to the simple idea of; "Take care of your boots and they will take care of you."
Your boots are a critical piece of mountain hunting gear. Bad boots, bad hunt. Good boots, with good care, will provide comfort and support for your feet and result in a quality hunt.
Good mountain boots are an investment. To protect that investment and get the greatest return from those boots, you need to treat them properly. Beeswax based treatments are the best for laminated boots such as the high quality mountain boots. Too much animal oil can harm the glue lamination and shorten the life of your boots.
Additionally, an untreated boot absorbs moisture, adding up to a half pound of water weight to each boot. Mountain hunting is hard enough without additional weight on your feet.
Thanks for watching.
