I saw a kiosk in my local mall selling these. I saw the faces of some of the people trying it out and saw that nostalgic feeling that they were getting. I feel bad for the ones that are buying them thinking that they are getting the real deal games that we actually released on an original console. Most of the game on these are complete shit. I got the bootleg consoles pulled from one of the biggest malls in the country, but they wouldn’t kill the bootleg Hong Kong movie booth because the MPAA investigator doesn’t know anything about them, and the head of the MPAA anti piracy force didn’t know that (at the time) Miramax was owned by Disney and said they couldn’t enforce those rights because they weren’t members.

I'm confident that this was a move from Nintendo. They did it as a stunt because they want people to buy their official console and not these knockoff ones. It's just a message showing that if you are a vendor then this might happen to you to scare them off. Meanwhile on e-bay you can find literally thousands of these knockoff consoles. And while it is not legal to distribute 1,000's of roms like this, I honestly could care less. If you are a real retro video game player you already have these roms on your computer and have an FPGA or flashcart setup.

"They did it as a stunt because they want people to buy their official console and not these knockoff ones" - except that doesn't make sense, as the Nintendo Classic consoles haven't been being sold for years now (because apparently Nintendo are idiots, that don't like money...meanwhile the Genesis Mini is selling like crazy because so many people couldn't get their hands on the Nintendo 'mini' consoles). Nintendo make good products, but i really hope Sega out sells them 3 to 1, as a retaliation 'fuck you, Nintendo' for them under manufacturing their minis and pissing off their fans.
