One thing I love about Gates and relate to is like, when he gets into something too deep he always tries to clarify that he's not trying to sound better than anyone or be nerdy and I feel like he holds back because of what he thinks people will think. I wish he'd go deeper in those times but, I know my own self would be the exact same way. Like I cannot judge that man. He the best rapper and realest dude out!!! On May 6th I celebrated 8 years of sobriety. What worked for me is to just think about staying sober for the next 60 minutes without thinking about the next few days or weeks. Set a timer on your phone and challenge yourself to stay sober for another 60 minutes. There's no need to wait a week to celebrate your sobriety. Every hour is a reason to celebrate. The road isn't easy, but the fact that you're on it puts you in a special league that very few people make it through. All that you think you will lose by putting it down will come back tenfold. In the beginning, I was worried about losing the creative process; I thought I would never be able to sleep again; I thought I would never be able to return to my old self; it all came back to me, and I'm stronger than ever! The pain you feel is simply poison leaving your body. Look at that inner voice telling you to pick it up like the monster that it really is, and remember that monster has been living inside your body and craves the poison that has kept it alive all these years. Because the monster is deprived and hungry, it will lash out at you, and try to make you suffer so you will pick it back up again. Laugh at that pain because it is the monster trying to fuck with you and it is slowly dying and will soon be eliminated. You got this!

I’m happy to see a rapper share his experience with addiction instead of encouraging the youth with their music, making it seem like popping percs and sippin lean is cool..that shit ain’t cool at all once you get addicted to it and then withdrawals start kicking yo ass! And next thing you know you popping pills to go smash a bitch one day and then all of a sudden you wake up one day and you can’t even get yo day started without popping one, can’t even get in the shower first, can’t eat first, the first thing on ya mind is poppin a perc. That shit can take ahold of your mind and body dawg, it can ruin your relationships, friendships, family, jobs, everything! Some of the people I know even robbed Muhfuckas, no mask, just to get some money for ONE pill!!…putting their life on the line..literally..for a fucking pill dawg..smh that shit really ain’t it mane. If any young men and women see this messsage, and ya outchea popping percs and shit, following ya friends or these rappers and shit…please stop man..take it from someone who done been there and done that they whole life! I was born with sickle cell anemia so I’ve been on pain killers like percs, lean, dilaudid, morphine, hydrocodone all that shit my whole damn life man, one day I got burned, had to go to Augusta Georgia and get treated there, they was pumping me with morphine and pills every single day, every couple hours a day, till this day I still don’t know how long I spent in that hospital but it was a very long time, a couple months..and if you taking them pills and morphine every day like that? You’re gonna get addicted, and I did!..at 15 years old, a freshman in high school…never ever ever thought it would happen to me, I used to make fun of junkies and shit, then I became one at 15 years old..young as fuck..ya think it won’t happen to you but it can, and if it don’t get you it’ll get someone close to you..just stick to weed man..don’t even do that but if ya do anything..do the tree..get an education and get you a job that’s paying 200-400k a year..that’s cool..being on percs and shit ain’t cool at all mane. If anyone dealing with addiction/withdrawals..Y’all stay blessed, and keep ya head up man, and remember to just take it one day at a time. ✌🏾 ☮️

10 things to quit for all Strong Men: 1. Caring about what others think 2. Not believing in yourself 3. Not experimenting different ideas / solutions for problems (life&business) 4. Not prioritizing your health 5. Wasting your precious time 6. Wanting something (instead write a plan and work towards it) 7. Chasing meaningless relationships 8. Wasting or draining your energy from beating your meat 🥩 9. Wasting time by scrolling social media 10. Nailbiting/nailpicking habit for good (if you do it - consider stopping it as it makes you mentally weak + affects your confidence and all other areas of your life!) Take it easy and I hope you found one thing helpful in this list.

Kevin, you are an amazing human being. When you were talking about your heritage and the tribe you belong to with such pride and compassion, I swear your whole entire soul was just radiating this warm, blinding white light, and you looked and felt so in your essence

Man Gates has helped me so much decade long H addiction and I’ve. Been sober for a while and Compared to a year ago I almost can’t believe I’m here BUT sometimes I get depressed thinking about how much I’ve ruined and what I don’t have but then I remember HOW FAR I’VE COME and how grateful for the everything I do have and I just have this self belief energy now that IM GOING TO GET EVERYTHING I EVER WANGED

I like Kevin Gates as a Man…his music is good but his messages…his exp…his vulnerability is Golden…Gates is special 1of1 I hope he creates a podcast because his wisdom is beautiful. You can tell when someone is being Genuine and honest. His insight & intellect is next level. He has a way with explaining and speaking on some touchy subjects. Gates is the Key. He unlocks Greatness and seeks truth and inspires the Masses. I served 33 months myself I relate to your story so much I admire your existence. Keep Feeding us your knowledge…keep being Great #GatesOfHeaven&Hell
