I agree about the tongue. It's the only part of the boot that makes me ponder because it's so thin. The good thing about it is it's so pliable that it stays in place and it doesn't restrict my forward movement unlike thicker tongues that require break in. I do love these boots though.

Another great informative video. I’ve owned and still own a few thick solid feeling boots, Viberg, Redwing etc, but I’m beginning to desire more comfort in a boot, so these Parkhursts are really calling to me. Softer rough-out and a thinner tongue would be bliss on my old feet.

These look great! I was sad to see that they aren't currently stocked on Parkhurst's website. Hopefully Andrew will do another run of them.

Really appreciated this review. I have a narrow heel and a normal to slightly wider at the ball of my foot. I was looking at Parkhurst or Oak Street. Sounds like Oak Street would be to wide. Although I prefer their full rough out.

You’re the best Teik! Always informative.

Also, I just noticed that there's no Parkhursr branding stamped on the rubber outsole. Obviously no impact to the quality or the performance of the boot.

Hello & thank you for the great review ,I can't find that specific boot on their website ,do you know is it available anywhere ?The is only the Colvin - Dune Roughout ,similar but Chukka style.

Parkhurst will be restocking. Why not email them through the contact in their website?

Have your tried the Colvin? Worthy contender or best to wait on Allen restock?

Just checked that one, no ,I want suede ,don't like the wrinkling the leather ends up with. Thanks for the idea anyway! I've emailed Parkhurst regards a re-stock ,no reply ,yet...

Hi! Could you share where you got these laces? I'm considering getting a pair of these boots and those laces match beautifully!

Excellent and informative video Teik. As always! 🙂 A brand preference as a reviewer is perfectly fine when you're as clear about it as you are! That said, while Parkhurst is around the same price as Grant Stone, I do think GS has the edge here. Both are made 'outside the US' (as that seems be a thing for some) but GS offers well known leathers from Horween, CF Stead and Badalassi. Their boots are fully lined and the quality & accuracy of construction and QC is *at least* as good as Parkhurst, if not better (I think so).

The only thing about the Parkhurst last I think Andrew needs to consider is that their last really doesn’t seem to suit people either high arches and insteps
@frankrice12538 ай бұрын
Hey Teik, does a goodyear welt always show up on the underside of the out sole ? Or can it be considered a gy welt if it is only stitched through the mid sole & the out sole is just glued over ??
@Bootlosophy8 ай бұрын
Yes the GYW refers to the stitch not just if it goes all the way through. Think of a classic moc toe like a Red Wing moc toe - it’s still a GYW even though the wedge sole is glued to the mid sole. BUT be careful of some boots with a fake stitch around the top of a fake welt that doesn’t go anywhere!

@@Bootlosophy thank you very much. I recently bought a pair of gh bass scout mid lace & Im not sure if they are actually gyw or not. They're really good looking but pretty inexpensive at $170 usd. Thanks a lot for responding. Your channel is wonderful.

It’s what Europeans call “reverse roughout suede” so it’s not a split, but finished like a suede
