It's all about dryness so rotate the boots. Never wear the same pair for a day or two. Also look at your foot care. Wash your feet daily with antibacterial soap, scrub your feet of dead skin, keep your toenails clipped, things like that. Foot hygiene leads to less foot odor. A man's feet are going to sweat anyway but it's all about dryness when it comes to preventing boot odors.

I bought a boot warmer. That helped tremendously, and in winter it’s nice to put on slightly warmed boots

Most important thing is to just let the boot dry. Do not use it every day for 8h, have at least 2 pairs and rotate between them.

No mention of cedar shoe trees?

I came to suggest people use cedar shoe trees also. 😂

Aside if you are someone who works your boots hard, a shoe tree gets 99.99% of this taken care of.

Shoe trees for sure.

Cedar trees are far and away the most important answer! Even more important than rotating 2 pairs.

Do they really help with smell? ..I've got this rotten cheese funk going on in my work boots and I think I may need to call in a priest to get rid of whatever is living inside of them.

Make sure you scrub all the dead skin off your feet ! I would wash my feel daily, as long as that dead skin is still there your feet always gonna stink. Take off your boots immediately after work and scrub inbetween and under your toenails. Always keep your toenails clipped. I also spray my feet and shoes/boots with rubbing alcohol . Then leave the deodorizers balls in there for 48 hours. I have 3 different boots in rotation. So every pair of boots get a 48 hour rest inbetween each work day to air out and dry.

Be very careful when you use sprays on leather. Most of the time they can really damage the leather. It happens to me on an expensive pair of cordovan boots and they were completely ruined

I use the company supplied wet wipes when that tingey smell starts, grab a few and rub the inside, Friday do the same though leave the wet wipes in the boots

Two of the most effective things is use anti perspirant deodorant on your feet. The kind you put under your arms. It will cut the sweating down dramatically. Use it each morning, spreading it all over your feet between your toes on the bottoms, spray deodorant is quicker but stick is better to really get it on and thick. And use a boot drier every time you remove your boots..

In my experience leather Lined or unlined leather boots don’t smell anywhere near as bad, even after years of wear. Naturally lined boots like wool or Sherpa won’t smell too bad, but fabric lined boots stink! The worst smelling boots I’ve ever had were Carolina logger boots with their scuba liner, pheww!!! Now I just wear unlined or mostly leather boots and generally take care of them and they don’t smell, baking soda, tea bags, and coffee grounds work really well. I’d say just let your boots dry naturally and stay away from Cheaper Lined boots.

Boot dryer (Peet Dryer) that doesn’t get hot is the best option. None of those things work.
