Depends on what state that you live in. The laws vary state to states some states have safe haven laws where the mother/ parents can drop the baby of at a hospital, police station, or fire station. In some states they will track down the parents to make sure the drop of was voluntary and not forced.

highschoolers look that young, high schoolers look like KIDS because they are, high schoolers don't look as old as people assume. So many tv shows and movies that star highschoolers have people in their 20s and 30s (which is primarily so they can be allowed to depict certain things and also not have to worry about work restrictions of minors) playing teenagers and so people assume they all look older and it shifts the perception.
