The problem is not that they are greedy or without competition. The issue is that EA is simply not good enough to make a change. As a player that have spended much hours playing nba 2k and fifa, i have noticed this: for example when you play nba 2k12 - 2k18 - 2k25 beside what people tell that is worse or better, you can actually see a difference in the mechanics, movement, animations, graphics and tell that beside the greediness, they are pushing forward to make the game more realistic (we cant deny this especially with the newest 2k25 where im actually very impressed by the progress of the gameplay). Here we can remind ourselves when EA (nba live) tried multiple times to compete with 2k but if you play every live game you can say the exact same thing as in fifa, its the same damn game. I look at the gameplay from this video and I am 100 % sure that I have seen 85 % of the gameplay in Fifa 12, fifa 16, fifa 20… so I genuinely think that they are simply not good to make the game different. I hope we will get a serious company thatll make a good football game in near future.

It's much less scripted, it contains much less (if any) of the so-called 'dynamic difficulty' that EA uses to try to balance out matches. And it's completely free to play. You can always try out a few games, trying it out and giving it a fair chance doesn't hurt anyone. Change the control scheme to Alternate (so that the shooting button and crossing button is the same as in EA FC, what you're used to) and change the camera position ingame to your liking, and try it out. Tactically, it's quite different, but that's also part of the charm of a different football game
