Mexico deployed the National Guard and has been rounding up migrants along major highways and cities. They then stuff them in buses and send them back to the border between Mexico and Guatemala to slow them down. That was the reason why the Border Patrol encounters have been going down. Major news outlets like CNN and FOX only show these caravans to scare people even thought the major ones like the one in this video get broken up. Now about the Cartels, that is a whole different story. The cartels are way larger than you might think. They aren't gangs like the ones you find here in the U.S.. They are organized crime syndicates that have armored vehicles and military grade weapons. The government doesn't let them exist, they are forced to let them exist. The cartels are imbedded into society. They aren't set up out in the desert or the forests where it would be easy to take action against them, they operate in residential areas where the military and other governmental forces cannot risk civilian casualties. Nonetheless the current administration in Mexico has been making significant blows to cartel operations. The military has seized over 43 tons on drugs, destroyed dozens of drug labs, arrested over 2,000 cartel members(does not include amount killed) and has arrested a lot of high ranking cartel leaders with responsibilities such as lab managers, chemical manufactures, extortionist, drug smugglers, human traffickers, and major violence generators.

It's disgusting and frightening for the future of our country. My wife and I will be retiring in the next two years n another country. We are absolutely worried that SSI will no longer be funded. we'll have to rely on pension, a 403 (b) and a very prolific Investment account with my Stephanie Janis Stiefel my FA. Our national debt is bloating and expanding every month. Our government needs to get spending under control and cut the federal budget.
