I’m almost certain the fish slap is a double reference, I’m pretty sure it refers to the holy mackerel from TF2 as the scouts melee weapon, as it’s very similar looking and deals melee damage which is oddly specific. Also the stats text “Jumps 1, time 10 dmg per jump” :)

2 days ago i got the yellowcake with the 90/300 annoitment. Its so crazy how it slaps, go to slaughter shaft mayhem 9 and farm gaurdian points like 1 point every 15 a 20 minutes. Today i went from GR 250 to 263 its amazeballs guys

Be advised that shock AOE from OPQ rifle is not blocked by the transformer and ignore healthgate. Other than that, I didn't manage to get Yellowcake with 150% radiation damage anointment, but all other weapons are plainly underperform compared to OPQ.

My experience is that the shock portion is blocked by transformer, but if you're adding any other damage types those'll obviously still kill you.

Might be true indeed. 150% radiation bonus from both bullets should be about enough to destroy the shield, if barely, and splash self-damage often bypass healthgate. Well, the point is, it’s regularly FFYLs 1 hp build when shooting into melee. Not a big issue, because stupid damage output is enough to stand up by yourself as long as the target wasn’t that one last enemy.

I know I'm a bit late, but just make sure to get the yellowcake and no pew pew before the event ends and you'll feel like you're playing on easy mode. Those 2 weapons are seriously OP, it's absolutely shocking

You don't need to go to the main cartel event to get any of these weapons/shields. This is difficult to explain with words. When you kill one of the enemies that has the 'visor' on, it will teleport in two 'cartel' enemies. Occasionally, there will be an orange one. More often than not, these will teleport the enemies that you can get the weapons/shields from. The enemies that drop this kind of teleport thing are usually badass enemies. They don't happen often, but when they do, they carry the same chance of dropping the weapons/shields.

I think a good buff to the Grease Trap would be if shooting hot grease at an enemy who is already on fire extends the burn duration and causes fire explosions. Throwing more grease on a fire is always a bad idea, so I figure being able to constantly throw grease on an enemy who's on fire should reflect that.

That's not true. They are maybe one of the few guns that are useful without a good anoinment (so basically they're OP), but for Moze for example guns like the Kaoson and the Sandhawk are great too. But yes, there should definitely be more viable weapons than just the couple ones there are right now. Gearbox is working on rebalancing the Mayhem Mode including items and action skills. I hope they won't mess it up even more.

The Cartel event is ending today!!! (Falls on knees and cries). I was able to make it to Mayhem 7 in the few weeks I've been playing BL3. I'm inside the joey ultraviolet mansion though with the internet off and the system in rest mode while at work. Hopefully I'll still be able to farm it a bit before it disappears.

OPQ and yellowcake are the best AR and rocket launcher respectively, for now.. Especially with 300% annoinment for OPQ and 200% damage on action skill for the latter.. Mayhem is like a walk in the park.. BRING YOUR OWN BODY BAG! 😂

was trying to get the OP and or yellow cake...cleared the whole map and finally took out Joey without any success getting those 2...I did however get the nopewpew from joey and my wife got the ice Berger...was playing on mayhem 6. I often hear of great legendary weapons you can get after M6 but the problem is you need those amazing legendary weapons to beat any serious boss on M6. I only beat joey by cheating the system by having my wife's character parked at the top of the stairs so that when I died her character went in...we need more easy to get guns that are good for climbing mayhem levels and less amazing unattainable legendary weapons

Oh.. I do prioritize luck on the guardian rank.. But that's it.. I use the artifact given by claptrap near the end of love guns and tentacles DLC, i think..? Doesn't have any luck bonuses.. So to answer your question, i guess it's pure luck? And here i am thinking OPQ is fairly a common "revenge of the cartel" drop.. The 300% damage against 90% health did give me a hard time.. Farmed that for about 20 or 30 tries, I think.. I use the artifact that gives you faster sliding so I can run through everything at the mansion and get to ultraviolet fastest way i can

@@entireanarchy2293 In Borderlands 2 I thought red text meant it had some hidden benefit. Grog Nozzle had health regeneration as well as the Ruby. One shield would make fun of you for sucking and depleting. It was something that made that gun special compared to others. I thought there was always some hidden perk. I could be wrong.

@@timnelson3431 usually but sometimes the effect isn't really noticeable like the hornet in bl2 doesn't really change much from a purple Dahl pistol I think mostly stats and how many shots are in it's burst or the sandhawk where its difference is the firing pattern.

@@timnelson3431 or a better example is the teapot in bl2 being a poor man's hornet. Both have red text but neither one are really all that unique or have some special hidden trait. And sometimes like the lyuda and the veruc have the same unique trait but on different types of guns. I think red text just means it's unique for it's standard version

I appreciate someone actually covering the non-gun items, but please stop misusing the phrase "known as." That phrase is supposed to be used to imply that something is not the real name, but a nickname or moniker. So yes, Fish Slap is probably only "known as" Fish Slap, but the names of the items and their firing modes aren't what they're "known as." They're just called what they're called.

They're not synonymous. Just because they're interchangeable in some cases doesn't mean they're interchangeable in all cases. In some cases, it just sounds wrong, and that's because it is wrong. English has a lot of rules that people use instinctively without knowing. That's why many times something just sounds wrong but you can't explain why. Adjective order is a classic example. If I say, " a big, red ball" that sounds normal, but if I say "a red, big ball" that sounds wrong, because there's a rule of adjective order that native speakers use but most can't articulate. In this case, it's a phrase that just "sounds wrong" because it's breaking a rule most people don't realize is there or can't describe. I can't call it an unwritten rule, because obviously I wrote it down, but you can instinctively hear when it's out of place even if you've never seen it written. Even if it weren't being used wrongly, it's still being overused. There's another rule about saturation that good writers and editors know. Words and phrases that aren't used as commonly in regular conversation should be used sparingly to make something sound more natural. In middle school, your teacher may have asked you not to use the word "said" and to use other things in instead in order to increase your written vocabulary, but most of the time in professional writing, "said" is the go-to word, and other words like "replied" or "rejoined" are used sparingly, and only in the cases where they are applicable. "Said" works in every case, but "rejoined" only works in certain cases because it has a narrower meaning. Just like "called" works in every case and "known as" has a similar but narrower meaning. If you can't tell the difference, that your deficiency, but don't say someone is wrong when they can distinguish things you can't. That's like telling a piano tuner they're wrong when they can tell something is out of key and you can't. They have the training to know the difference.

Tongue shotguns? Hellwalker? Cutsman (I think? That one might not be true but it feels a lot weaker than it used to) What reason did they have to nerf the hellwalker? Who in gods name is getting that gun for how good it is, and not becuase it's a cool doom reference and plays industrial metal samples when you shoot it? Why spend so much time micromanaging a single player game? I love the game, it's one of my faves of all time but dont defend the incessant nerfs of the past.

@@Ezekiel_Allium I will pretend i didn't see cutsman. Hellwaker was a 8% damage nerf... how is it nerfed to the ground when the gun is doing ok NOW even with the class underpowered? Torgue shotguns are meh, but the nerf is not the major reason, its the gun class being underpowered for this kind of balance. Once again no gun was nerfed to the ground. (once the Maggie was but it was reverted a week later). BTW i respect your opinion about the micromanagement but the nerfs exist for a reason, also thismanagement makes the experience much more polished and satisfying overall, the selling point of the game is creativity an guns, lets use it! The pve single player shouldn't be excuse fo rus to have stale gameplay.

@@STALKER777LK tongue shotguns are undeniably nerfed into the ground. At launch the things were insane, now I struggle to do damage to the rampager. I think you could make a case for the nerfing of torque shotguns though, they definitely stole the spotlight from more interesting weapons, but they are an example of a whole swathe of weapons getting kicked into the dirt by gearbox. And yeah, the hellwalker nerf was minuscule, making it almost even more insulting. Why not just leave it be? I think if they were a little more cautious with their nerfs and a little tweaks, only changing it when it's really needed, like with the torque shotguns (though they went a little overboard, imo)

Which is the problem not the nerfs directed to the specific guns itselfz but to the class, so no, there is no nerf to the ground. That being said I agree with you about them being more cautious, (which they are now, took a while... Ugh) also... They're using us as beta testers, I understand, it's smart, but damn it gets on my nerves.
