@@MrRusdawg A double penetrating blister is a torgue/alien hybrid gun that is essentially a flame thrower that can spawn fire and other elements such as radiation, shock and corrosive. It can even come as anointed. I've even managed to get a version that has a higher base damage than Elon's flame thrower at level 50. Elon's is 197 all the time as far as I know while the Blister I have is like 225. So it scales in damage to higher damage.

I love this, it does actually overheat sometimes, and breaks sometimes, but you can shoot a good thousand rounds or so before it happens for the first time, like I used it for 5 minutes straight and it only overheated twice

Ive kept some of the blue "unique" wespons just for the design alone. 🤷‍♂️ like the sniper rifle you get from zero after a mission (just because he gives you it) the butplug pistol....etc etc Sometimes they are 1 of a kind weapons you get ftom side missions. For me at least, just that factor alone is enough to save in the bank or dieplay in your room on sanctuary.

there is a unique blue jakobs sniper call the hunt(er) ,2551 damage at lvl50, and does 175% increased damage to Creatures, i dunno if it was meant to be Beast,but it works againts beast; 1m crit with the 50% sniper damage buff from Mayhem. You get it from the side quest Wildlife Conservation. I might test if it works with the legendary mod from flak that treat bosses as Humans,Beast and Robots.

I think the pipebomb should not be nerfed and here is my reasoning. When you start your run on TVHM you can not select a Mayhem difficulty until you complete it, so level 50 characters can just blow thru this mode which is a waste when you are going thru the missions and its a cakewalk. You have to keep incentives to keep players attention to keep playing and if they start nerfing mission rewards then that is less incentive to run thru that mode since most players are fine with normal mode mayhem 1-3. Just my thought.

Alot of guns stat wise are worse than epic rarity jakobs snipers however its their effects that make the difference. Try to try out new gear not totally based on stats ESPECIALLY if you are dealing with legendairies

A level 22 optimized Q system did the same for me. I bought a new one at level 39. Now Atlas guns have a 25% buff so they're more op.

I can see why, a Gratifying Carbuncle is a god roll version since you get increased damage with one no matter what element it may spawn with. :) (As far as I know!) I just loved my Carbuncle for the insane explosive/elemental and Crit damage it could do. It's one of the reasons I started to really like the bonus effects that alien-hybrids bring to any manufacturer, I just wish they would LIST the effect somewhere and not leave it to be discovered. Like some alien-hybrids fire 2 shots that bounce, some start out low on the card but actually damage jump to 4x the damage with the only thing that reads "Increased damage the longer you fire" being your clue. I had even found an alien on a Torgue rocket launcher that even fired two MASSIVE balls that did arcing damage to any nearby enemies until they exploded, doing huge damage.

Loop of angel is a great blue shield, it comes from the childhoods end mission in Konrad's Hold, or a bounty board in sanctuary III.

When it fires 1 shot goes out and where ever that lands it divides into three separate bombs spread out. Is that good or can I expect to find better in the future? I tried it on Troy Mayhem 3 and it melted him beyond recognition very quickly... I spent 5x as long waiting for him to become vulnerable again than it takes to end him each time.

Yep I've got a lvl 20 stimulating Protuberance that does almost 800 damage with a 46% chance to do 1400 shock damage per second, so sick! I can 3 shot the Kataga waa ball with it at lvl 21.

Torgue elemental shotguns with alien barrels are absolutely the best guns in the game, "Ithchy Shredded Protuberance" found in mayem 3 does 12000/ sec radiation damage...it's hands down the best gun I have. Only down side is not being interested in any other gun upgrade but a different elemental version.

I believe the item is called a Host shotgun. It can spawn in blue or purple that I know of. The ones with higher base damage such as yours appears to be a more rare variant drop. Most will have damage closer to 1000 or less. It is a contender when compared the Lob, at least before the most recent patches where the Lob was buffed. I haven't compared them since then. Got a Lv 40 shotgun. Does 8000+ Incendiary per/s. And around 4000 base attack damage. Uses 4 ammo per shot but has 49% chance for incendiary effect. Currently looking for a Lv. 50 but this has to be among the most rare kind of gun in the game despite only being blue tier. Full playthrough and a bit of Mayhem 3 and I have only ever seen about 2 or 3 so far. In comparison I have around 200 Legendaries dropped up to now.

I have nothing against the guns in particular, but why is a blue weapon better than a legendary? I am used to games having a rarity system that matters.. The blue gun even has a handy perk you want to have and it is a viable gun in itself! Shouldn't this gun be a legendary? I sometimes get drops from blue and purple rarity and they have more damage then legendaries.. or when i went through the story some guns were a lot stronger than the higher level AND rarity guns i got as drops.. I just want to understand this system..

They did it that way so that people won't just farm for legendaries and then stop playing. The ones who want to play the game with the best DPS will be the ones that hardly use ANY legendary weapons in my opinion. Those kind of people will have 1 legendary they find they like such as... they Lyuda or the Flakker. The rest will be blue or purple drops that out-do every other weapon and let's face it. Blue or Purples are going to be random rolls, causing people to farm all over the game and thus playing BL3 for a lot longer just like how people keep playing Borderlands 2 for that better roll on a weapon. Besides red flavored Blue's and alien-hybrid's are also just like legendary weapons in their own right.

The torgue elemental shotties with alien barrels are broken OP, was using a level 26 in mayhem 2, just found another (random world drop) it's 73% chance for 12000/sec radiation, it's a monster, been looking online and it seems not many people know about these, enjoy while u can!

Around 200 legendaries. But maybe 2 or 3 max of those shotguns. So frustrating since they make Mayhem 3 a whole lot easier.

Would be nice to see someone do a "best alien-hybrid weapons in Borderlands" video or at least tell HOW to tell what the effects of the name/alien parts are. I personally would love to know that so I can just look at one and go "Cool, I want that." lol! Some have really cool effects too. twin reflecting shots, increased damage over time, giant balls with arc damage, or even a flamethrower effect like the Elon gun.

I have found a purple shotgun that literally shoots mini porcelain pipe-bombs. Its called the Itchy Gratifying Protuberance and does 8613×3 splash dmg but does a massive 18314 rad dmg/s.

@@ASpicyApple It can be a blue rarity OR purple rarity and Torgue only. And it doesnt have any red flavor text. It ALWAYS has an alien barrel and just 1 dmg number no (x3) or anything. Just a flat 8k dmg. Sadly its just a world drop like everything else but ill say, ive gotten at least 2 from the super badass, 3 health-bar bandits in Konrads hold where sloth is.

Buttplug has minus Weapon Damage because it has multiple projectiles. All Mashers have that x pellets y minus damage on Item Card.

There is a blue Jakobs sniper called The Hunt(ed) that is pretty unique with its perk. It does damage increase against robots by 175%. I got to drop from a Maliwan Heavy troop in Desolations Edge. And its pretty awesome to use. Edit: Dont know what it means but the red text reads "so dead."

I’m still not sure how damage works in BL3. I know it is a lot lower than BL2 and it’s more like BL1 but my first play through I used a ton of Jacob weapons cause they did the most damage. It probably didn’t help that some weapons I used that wasn’t Jacobs really sucked or were very niche weapon. In TVHM I’ll try to use a lot more weapon at least until I get more legendary I want and like. It also doesn’t help that Flakk works amazingly with Jacobs weapons to hit multiple enemies at a time when using Fade Away.

I've rarely found a legendary that's any good. I mainly use epic gear. Legendary seem too much gimmick and not enough real firepower.

Quite alot of legendaries are really good because of the stats but as you said their gimmicky.Not very effective in combat due to the uniqueness for example the duc(legendary revolver).It fires mines which deal great damage and above avarage stats but you could easily use a epic revolver which deals more damage per second.

@@alexleigh3155 pretty much. I mean the gimmicks are cool, just not very useful. In fact plain old Jacob's is my go to for most weapons such as revolver, assault rifle and sniper. Some COV are nice. The gimmicks are fun but halfway through a fight you're switching it out for something that actually works.

oh and I don't even use the pipe bomb ever since I got the Cloning Hex which wrecks everything with radiation damage as well. Also have a Large FireStorm and a Singularity FireStorm version. When you have some of the best then pipebomb just becomes an option and not a crutch.

There's an smg or pistol you get from a side mission that is fire damage, is on fire at all times, and has 999 ammo before overheating. Forget what it's called but it's so fun to just spray for days....
