BL2 was my gateway to the series and looter shooters in general so I'll always love it. That said, I enjoyed BL3 more than BL2 in every category except the main story by the end. Player feedback played a big part but GBX put a lot of work into redeeming the game. A lot of the negativity (demanding full redesigns) just feels overblown so I'm gonna be cautiously optimistic for now

In terms of balance in BL3, I'd personally say it's the best Balance a borderlands game has had, not in terms of legendary drop rates ofc.. That shit needs nerfing, as do the "Talk to Lilith" promts. But weapon wise it's really good.. stg all the pearls suck in bl2 and is outperformed by any legendary at any point in the game, making pearls pointless except for something to hunt, and endgame is horrible without slag.

I didn't enjoy how complex Borderland 3 became... The release was great aside a few minor bugs. But they kept adding scaling stuff, to a point where I just didn't even want to play anymore... I grinded for every anointed weapon I wanted to level 50, but as soon as they increased the level cap, you are forced to redo all of that grinding on mayhem 10 or 11... To me that's a buzz kill, they should have a max level SET upon launch.... So, we aren't forced to re-find all of our weaponry when they decided to add new stuff to the game... That's the major reason why I disliked Borderlands 3, and also, they kept nerfing guns in the beginning stages of the game. In essence Borderlands 3 now, is entirely different from what launched. If there is one thing, I don't want in Borderlands 4 it's definitely anointments... It' too much grinding, and it overwhelms people who just want to play casually. Literally you have to grind as if you're searching for a Shiny Pokémon... it's not easy whatsoever...... Also, Borderlands 3 like forces you to use specific overpowered weapons, or you'd have a difficult and slow time getting through the game on Mayhem 10... Some of these weapons are hidden behind paywalls.... So hopefully they learn from all this. I'm excited to see Borderlands 4, and I will be trying it out, but I just hope they go back to simplicity. We don't need 40 different random anointments on each gun/mod.. This is borderlands, not Diablo 2.... Make it simple!

@CrystalApex You may not like hearing this but you will probably be best to wait for games to be done their support for you to play. This is a common thing with borderlands games to constantly change stuff. Finished product is always a lot better. There are a lot of items that are nuts that are not behind dlc but are base game. Also funny you make the Diablo comparison because BL was inspired by Diablo but hasn't evolved with it

Story bad = Game bad. I know some people dont agree with this but that's how it is. I played BL2 for several thousand hours now altough it doesnt have the greatest gameplay and endgame kinda sucks. But the story is just one of the best storys I have ever played. A great story makes a game such as a Borderlands game replayable not the gameplay.

​Being a BL fan, palying BL and BL2 multiplayer, I order the BL3 and it was the biggest disapointment in any games I have purchased. Poor characters (BL2 had Krieg which was just awesome). I ordered the BORDERLANDS 3 Super Deluxe Edition exclusive STEELBOOK. Biggest regret for a game purchase in my life. Multiplayer did not work and even when it did, the characters were so boring vs BL2, never mind the story line was terrible VS handsome Jack. A couple of spoiled brats.. wow. No originality at all. If your new to BL, try one and 2 stay away from 3 and from the looks of it 4 isn't going to be any better (I may be wrong but I doubt it) than 3, loosing the humor and story line.

GBX has never been good at first impressions. But now you are ignoring the amazing BL3 DLC stories AND the Wonderlands story.
