Jack was a hero till Moxxi destroyed that Eye his rage against the Vault Hunters made him a villian. Jack was right about Lilith and the Vault Hunters there all Bandits and Jack was all about restoring peace to Pandora

It's a shame that such a deep character, who just wanted to rebuild from the ashes was treated like a tool. Used and then discarded. If i could I would rewrite the story so jack at least achieved one piece of his dream.

fr he didn't deserve any of that and even going all the way back (chronologically) to TPS he has been betrayed by everyone he ever cared about:( i think honestly that mixed with the way his mom and grandmother treated him propelled his actions in Tales, due to causing a fear of rejection and betrayal. i miss him so much and i miss rhys and vaughn too:/ ik they're in 3 but i think 3 really messed a lot of things up for the Tales group. like A LOT, but you know.

John/Handsome Jack truly didn't do anything wrong, he was only trying to do what was right by saving Concordia, Elpis and Helios by fighting Colonel Zarpedon and her Lost Legion army. Along with the four Vault Hunter's he hired and with Moxxi, Roland and Lilith they fought a long, hard road. He was betrayed by the four people he trusted, the Meriff, his ex girlfriend Moxxi, Roland and Lilith. It pretty much sealed Roland and Lilith's fate when they betrayed John because he was only trying to do the right thing, he was a hero but what they did to John unwittingly led that to his downfall as a hero and his uprising as a misunderstood hero.

And what makes us even sadder in borderlands two most of his troops if not all of them are robot things he can program to not betray him not people robots it’s just sad man. I knew he was a well written film and I’m playing the pre-sequel now and oh my God it gets so deep. I wish he got better. He deserved better.

Jack (the good persona): hello there listener if your listening to this echo well you already know i'm dead but did i deserve this death...yes and was my actions of the horrible things i've done should the "bandits" have killed me...yes i deserved it but if i could go back and wind the clock could i redeem myself and fix the wrong that i did...oh how i wish i could, i could've treated angel better and not use her as a battery for the key, i could've just went on elpis but knowing i could've died but it would've been better so that the warrior would never be awaken and i could've just changed my life for the better i wish i could tell my daughter that i'm sorry for using her, i wish i didnt kill roland that man deserved better but even after all i said could i have change from not being a madman to a good father, could i have change to be just being who i was instead of becoming a hyperion tyrant *sigh* whats that old saying you either die a hero or see yourself slowly become the villain should've just died as a hero and not become the villain, if i was alive again but a changed man would you give me a second chance?

Really good,but into the game it self most people see jack as the villain but how are you being a vault hunter who kills hundreds and hundreds of men and creatures,just for loot any better,and really I cried when lilith killed jack in borderlands 2 just as much as I cried when scooter died in TFTBD

broooo ong lilith is such an awful person, and as we can see in TPS she betrayed Jack multiple times just there, including branding his face. ALSO jack saw the future before she did that, presumably including his own death, yet still tried to change that and make pandora better. Handsome Jack IS THE GOD DAMN HERO. haha yeah on a serious note though he is.

Yeah, when you think about it the vault hunters really are nothing more than super-grave robbers looking for their own fortune and killing anyone in their way. Hell, I recently replayed Borderlands 1 as Lilith and noticed that her battle quotes really made her seem like some sadist who took genuine joy in murdering people. And in the second game, there's an echo where she discovers how much more powerful she is when enhancing herself with Eridium and she exclaims how "awesome" it was that she liquefied some guy's brain.

I feel people often overlook the fact that the vault hunters aren't any better than Jack. In fact many of them are way worse then him. Jack has pointed this out in tftbl and i think in bl2 as well.

The thing is Jack is such an amazing character but he wasn't used to his fullest. They used him for 3 games and barely mentioned him past that. I wish they brought him back again and possibly made the story darker, showing a much more desperate side of him. In tales from the borderlands Rhyse has the opportunity to keep a piece of Jack's ai, that could've been used to bring back a last time and given his character the respect of giving him an amazing and final goodbye. Possibly even getting full revenge on all that betrayed him, making the game bittersweet by bringing him back only to end the story of so many characters along with his. Just food for thought:p

@@JackMarvin Exactly! In the newest game no one was used well, and the people that were used didn't work well. Instead of Lilith being annoying she could be afraid because of how persistent and desperate Jack is, afraid everyone else she cared about is going to die. The whole game would have a whole darker mood, with actual threats and Jack's mind fully breaking and going down a final resort. It would also be so cool if you can't actually beat him. The final boss fight you lose and he wins, killing your character a final time but not before he makes you watch as he kills all the friends you made along the way. Lol sorry I think about this far too much 🙃

My only problem with jack branded as a hero is he had innocent people who had families tortured and experiment on. And for the love of god used hos own daughter to charge a key. Jack may have been a hero in the presequel but once he gave into the obsessions of the vault he fell and i know people say if your killing bandits and creatures for loot well bandits will shoot once them see you and 90% of the creatures will attack once you get too close. Jack became the villan once he lost his mercy. To him everyone on Pandora is a bandit.
