I thought he was so great after BL2 announcement and the BL1 DLCs. Then I went to a Pax West conference, and got a copy of BL2 a year ahead of time... But, got to see Randy, with a smile, weasel word around a few questions...Including my own that had me start to question everything he said. Out of that show, I did like Mikey Neumann constantly jab Randy and admit Duke Nukem wasn't good. Later though, he did get TDS. And their Conferences got worse and worse.

As an Old Borderlands fan who has been loving the franchise for over 13 years now. Im tired of how bad the game is treated. I wish that Randy will retire and a randome BL fan gets the place, so we can finally have a good game for once after a decade. But I will always Love BL2 and BL1, and also you Pre Sequel. Only games that actually are still replayable and fun!!

They did a good job with the story beats in TPS. Unlike 3, where the best dialogue is in the side missions, it was their side missions in TPS that were mind numbing at times. I did like the Dahl New-U and Vending Machine "Soldier" talk breaking the 4th wall in a way.

Subbed, as a gamer and HUGE BL fan and player, (currently playing through BL 2 then gonna play 3), I don't understand why they didn't just adapt the first game, (maybe make the movie cell shaded/animated as this world is extreme and eccentric, bloody,gory, dark humor filled, and an animated route could of definitely been a way to make the film), flesh out the story a bit more than the OG game did, bring in Brick, Mordecai, Roland and Lilith, easy set up, 4 vault hunters, looking for a huge treasure in something called a "Vault" on a planet called Pandora, boom, there's the plot, make it Rated-R, add in iconic lines from the game's, make the cast AGE APPROPRIATE, maybe casting little or unknown actors in the roles, (that are either actually gamers, are fans of the world, or, have at least played through it once and knows the characters well), bring in the VA from the game's for Claptrap, and you have yourself a hit. They could do the Pre-Sequel next if they so choose, as a film adaption, maybe even Tales from The Borderlands somewhere in the mix of these films too. The 2nd main film could bring in Zero, Maya, and the other VH's from BL2, meeting Tiny Tina, adding the DLC stories as side adventures within the film, (no reason to have any "fluff" or trying to "make up things for the characters to do between plot beats"), and ending the 2nd film after Fight for Sanctuary. Each of the Borderlands films could've been at minimum 2 hrs and 10 minutes long, with all the lore within this world and back story's of characters, there was so much potential for a great franchise of films and it got squandered by people who not only didn't care about any accuracy at all with characters, (including Randy Pitchford, head of Gearbox, he clearly didn't care that this film was being butchered), but had zero knowledge of what the heart of the game's and this world means to us gamers who love playing the Borderlands games to this day, I'll give it maybe 5-8 years, maybe they'll try again, have it done right, and then I can look forward to going to the movies to see this. 🤷🏾‍♂️

This movie was incredible, 10/10! The humor was non-stop. They nailed Krieg's lines, had so many easter eggs and reinterpreted the lore in innovative ways. I can't wait for the Pre-Sequel movie!!!!

I went with my hardcore Borderlands fan friend to see it. I myself I'm not a huge fan or know the lore extensively but having seen my favorite franchise and character, Master Chief raped in front of my eyes by Paramount I can relate to you guys. I'm not gonna lie though, I enjoyed the movie. The humor was there and it was Borderlands humor. I don't remember ever actually laughing out loud during any of the games jokes, mostly just heh's which is what I got from this movie. Kate Blanchett did a pretty good job of playing Lil, who is kind of an asshole in the game as well (every character is an asshole tbh). I was expecting Kevin Hart to be annoying, but he really wasn't, he was pretty serious throughout the movie not lame jokes from him. The whole plot point of Tiny Tina being the chosen one was kinda dumb, but if a new person doesn't know that Lil is the firehawk then it's a pretty good misdirection. I don't know, giving this movie a complete 0% is kinda overdoing it, at most it's a 5. The Street Fighter movie is one of my favorite movies as well and that one shreds the lore to pieces. So does the original Resident Evil movies, but I still enjoy does for what they are. There will never be a good video game movie, so I try to just enjoy the mess.

I made a long post on another review talking about how you could have easily made this dumpster fire work by just combining aspects of the 1st and 2nd games. All you need is just the most basic motivations for the characters, just have them focus on finding pieces of the vault key. I wish they didn't make the short jokes about Kevin its just played to death however I do like the idea of hiring shorter actors to make Krieg look massive.

I don’t understand why people seem to be surprised this is bad. It shares only the name with borderlands, and everything else is seemingly different. The casting was all wrong, and the movie sat on the shelf for two years. That alone should have told you they knew it was bad and borderline unreleasable, but they spent money and want to recoup something. That’s all this is. They know it’s terrible, but why would they admit it? If it were your movie you spent 100+ million you wouldn’t call it trash. You would say you liked it in the hopes of some people paying to see it. This also has nothing to do with the games. How many times have we gotten a movie or show on a game that was sub par and the games weren’t affected? BL4 will be fine, but you guys will find something to complain about when it releases I’m sure. Because no matter what fans get these days they aren’t happy with anything.

As an old school BL fan this is hard to watch any BL movie that's not rated R or NC17 is going to suck. You half to have the zany over the top gore and moxxie having sex thrown in there in order to get the fans excited to come see it. Acting was fine. Everything else was a 0/10. Some of the weapons were semi accurate in the movie, but it was hard to notice when the costumes were so bad. The only character I enjoyed was Krieg, and that's mostly because he didn't have cringe dialog. Poor poor writing. Tweeted to Randy when he said he loved it, blocked again. Maybe he'll unblock me when bdl4 comes out. Anyways. Spot on review.

No one asked for a borderlands movie, but yet again it's Randy Pitchford ego. I think he is ruining gearbox and Borderlands, the dude really needs to step down from gearbox. great video and I wasn't going to watch this movie, it's a massive bastardization of Borderlands this quote on quote movie, it's just sad to see the franchise what I growed up with is now shit like Star Wars.
